New lightweight athlete Porsche 911 Carrera T!

Porsche is expanding the 911 family with the lightweight sports car 911 Carrera T. The letter T stands for "Touring" and describes models that offer a particularly puristic driving experience with sporty equipment. The new 911 Carrera T is equipped with a seven-speed manual transmission as standard. An eight-speed PDK is also available as an option. The rear seat system is omitted. With its PASM sports suspension with the body lowered by ten millimeters and reduced insulation, the new 911 Carrera T stands for purism and emotional driving pleasure. This can be felt – and heard – on winding mountain and country roads. The sound of the six-cylinder boxer engine is now even more distinctive in the interior.

Porsche 911 CarreraT

The new 911 Carrera T ranks between the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carrera S. The Carrera T adopts the biturbo engine with 283 kW (385 hp) and 450 Newton meters of torque from the entry-level 4,5, with which the sports car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 291 seconds and reaches a top speed of XNUMX km/h. Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with a mechanical rear axle differential lock comes from the standard scope of the Carrera S with manual transmission.

With PASM sports suspension and Sport Chrono Package as standard

The 911 Carrera T also has the Sport Chrono Package and the PASM sports suspension (-10 mm) as standard. This is only available on the 385 Carrera T in conjunction with the 911 hp engine. It is available as an option on the 911 Carrera S. In addition, rear-axle steering can be ordered for the 911 Carrera T on request, which is otherwise also reserved for the models from the 911 Carrera S upwards.

The T-specific equipment features include titanium gray Carrera S wheels measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear with tires measuring 245/35 ZR 20 (front) and 305/30 ZR 21 (rear). In addition, the 911 Carrera T comes standard with a GT sports steering wheel, sports exhaust system and sports seats Plus (four-way, electric). At 911 kilograms, the 1.470 Carrera T with manual transmission is the lightest production 35 in the basic engine. It is therefore 911 kilograms lighter than the XNUMX Carrera with a standard eight-speed PDK. This is not offered with a manual gearbox. In addition to the omission of the rear seat system and the reduced insulation, lightweight glazing and a lightweight battery contribute to the low weight.

Touring car concept successful across several series

The "T" in the model designation of the Porsche 911 Carrera T stands for "Touring" and has its origins in the homologation of the 911 T as a touring car in 1968. This first 911 T was on offer until 1973, and in 2017 Porsche revived it with the 911 Carrera T of the 991 series, the puristic 718 variant. Since then, the concept of reduced but particularly sporty equipment has been successfully transferred to other model series with the 718 Cayman T, the XNUMX Boxster T and the Macan T.

Exclusive details on the exterior and interior

On the exterior, the Porsche 911 Carrera T stands out from the rest of the series with dark gray accents. Contrasting elements such as the upper and lower shells of the exterior mirrors, the new door lettering and the rear lettering and the trim strips on the trunk lid grille are in agate grey. In addition, the windshield has a gray wedge. The tailpipes of the sports exhaust system are finished in high-gloss black. This makes the new 911 Carrera T appear even more extroverted and dynamic. The sporty focus of the vehicle is characterized in the interior by the standard four-way sports seats Plus.

Decorative strips in matt black and decorative inserts in high-gloss black round off the T interior. Customers who want even more differentiation here can opt for the Carrera T interior package. In this case, they also get seat belts in the contrasting colors slate gray or lizard green. The same applies to the decorative stitching, the "911" lettering embossed on the headrests and the stripes on the center panel of the seats. The floor mats also have the option of lettering and stitching in the contrasting colors lizard green or slate grey.

Small but fine selection of options and colors

Optionally available for the 911 Carrera T are the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus (18-way, electric) and also the particularly sporty and particularly light bucket seats, then with seat center panels in RaceTex. The Carrera T interior package is optionally available with extended leather appointments. The armrests of the door panels and the center console are then also covered in leather, as are the upper parts of the dashboard and the door panels.

Chalk, Star Ruby Neo, Carmine Red, Shark Blue and Python Green are available as special colours. In addition, buyers of the 911 Carrera T have the option of using the "Color of your choice" program. Here are more than 110 available colors for painting.
