A high-performance athlete who doesn't reveal his talent, loves a discreet appearance: that's the new Porsche 911 GT3 with touring package. The seventh edition of the 375 kW (510 PS) GT vehicle can now also be ordered with the equipment package that was already extremely popular with its predecessor. This puristic 1.418 GT911, which weighs 3 kilograms, is supplied as standard with a 6-speed GT sports manual transmission. For the first time, the touring package can also be combined with the 7-speed PDK at no extra charge.

The most striking difference in the exterior is the absence of the fixed rear wing of the 911 GT3. An automatically extending rear spoiler provides the necessary downforce at high speeds and more understatement. Silver-colored strips made of high-gloss anodized aluminum on the side windows underline the newcomer's sporty, discreet appearance as a further distinguishing feature. The front section is completely painted in the exterior color. The interior trim, which is available exclusively for the GT3 with the Touring Package, has a particularly elegant look with extended leather trims in black. The front of the control panel and the upper side of the door panel have a special surface embossing.

The name “Touring Package” goes back to an equipment variant of the 911 Carrera RS from the 1973 model year. Even then, the focus was on the puristic 911 design and elements of a classic interior. In 2017, Porsche took up the idea and offered a touring package for the first time for the previous generation of the 911 GT3 type 991. Since then, this variant has primarily appealed to lovers of top-class sports cars with a pronounced penchant for understatement and classic driving fun.

Discreetly staged performance: the details in the exterior and interior

A specially designed trunk lid grille with the “GT3 touring” logo sits above the high-speed engine. The strips of the side windows and the tailpipe trims of the sports exhaust system are silver. In the optional Black Exterior Touring package, these elements are finished in black (satin gloss). In this case, the front lights are colored dark.

The interior of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package also has the ambience of a classic sports car. The steering wheel rim, the gear lever / selector lever, the lid of the storage compartment in the center console, the armrests in the door panels and the door pull handles are covered in black leather. The partial leather interior is sewn with black thread. The center panels of the seats are covered with black fabric; the headliner is also kept black. The headrests bear embossed Porsche crests. The door sill panels and the decorative panels in the dashboard and on the center console are made of brushed black aluminum.

Almost all of the optional extras for the 911 GT3 are also available in combination with the Touring package. For example, all exterior and wheel colors, LED main headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System and Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, various assistance systems, the PCCB ceramic brake, the lift system on the front axle, all seat variants, the Chrono Package and the audio systems.

Porsche Design is also offering buyers of the 911 GT3 with the Touring Package a very special chronograph. The watch is equipped with a movement with a flyback function. The elevator rotor is based on the wheel design of the vehicle and is available in six different versions to match the vehicle configuration. The dial color ring in agate gray metallic is based on the paintwork of the vehicle. The dial is matt black, while the bright yellow chronograph hands pick up the color of the tachometer. The 911 GT3 Chronograph with Touring Package is worn on a bracelet made of Porsche vehicle leather with “GT3” embossing. The black decorative stitching made from Porsche vehicle thread rounds off the bracelet. The chronograph, manufactured in the company's own Swiss watch manufacture, is reserved exclusively for vehicle owners.

With know-how from motorsport: the Porsche 911 GT3

In the seventh edition of the high-performance sports car, Porsche transferred racing technology to a production model more consistently than ever before: The double wishbone front axle layout and the uncompromising aerodynamics with gooseneck rear wing and distinctive diffuser come from the successful GT racing car 911 RSR, the 375 kW ( 510 hp) four-liter six-cylinder boxer engine is based on the drive of the 911 GT3 R that has been tried and tested in endurance races

Despite the wider body, larger wheels and additional technical features, the weight of the new GT3 is on par with its predecessor. With manual transmission it weighs 1.418 kilograms, with PDK 1.435 kilograms. The front hood made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), lightweight glass panes and forged light alloy wheels ensure weight discipline, as does the lightweight sports exhaust system.

The proximity to racing is expressed in practically every detail of the new 911 GT3. In the cockpit there is now a so-called track screen for the first time: at the push of a button, it reduces the digital displays on the left and right of the central rev counter to the essential information on tire and oil pressure, oil and water temperature and the level of the fuel tank. The 911 GT3 has an easily accessible mode switch in the steering wheel. It makes it easier to quickly switch between the "Normal" settings and the customizable "Sport" and "Track" levels. Porsche offers the 911 GT3 from 170.969 euros including VAT and country-specific equipment. The touring package can now be ordered as an option at no extra charge.
