Porsche 911 GT3 "STI" - Subaru Power in the 997 XNUMX!

We absolutely have to show you this Porsche 911 GT3 of the 997 generation. Because the blue unique actually has a Subaru Impreza STI engine installed in the rear and also an ultra-wide GT3R body kit all around. And who does this? The team from Eneos and DevSpeed Motorsports do that. The vehicle was specially built for this year's SEMA car show and has been called "Porsche 911 GT3 STI". The project was based on a 911 salvage Porsche 3 GT2007, owned by the drifter and carmaker Farouk Kugay was bought. The vehicle was delivered without an engine, which fired the new owner's imagination all the more. And his idea was to use a heavily modified EJ25 boxer engine from a 2008 Subaru Impreza STI.

Specifically, a 2,5-liter four-cylinder engine with a fat BorgWarner EFR 7064-C turbocharger is now working in the rear and there was also a Vibrant Vertical Flow intercooler, Brian Crower 280 camshafts, Deatschwerks injectors, a fuel system from Nuke Performance and a custom stainless steel sports exhaust system for a befitting soundscape. The result culminates in a mighty 550 hp, making the unique vehicle significantly more powerful than the 415 hp standard 3,6-litre six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine in the 997 GT3. Incidentally, the power is transmitted to the rear axle via a Subiworks-installed six-speed manual transmission from the Subaru STI, which of course had to be converted accordingly. And the chassis setup is specially designed for use on the racetrack.

BC Racing coilover kit

A fully adjustable coilover kit from BC Racing, in combination with various chassis components from the Porsche 911 Cup racing car, provides contact with the road. A roll cage in motorsport quality from CageKits is also installed and the standard GT3 brake system has been upgraded with Hawk racing pads. And typical for racing is the XNUMX with a Nuke Performance Air Jack 90 Competition System equipped, which makes a particularly fast wheel change possible. And then there is the body kit. It comes from a VAD Design GT3R and includes a large splitter, extra wide and vented fenders, a carbon fiber roof, taillights from the 997.2 and a new rear bumper. By the way, there is no rear wing or engine cover.

19 inch rims from Rotiform

And then there are the ultra-wide 19-inch 917 rims from Rotiform, which are fitted with Toyo Proxes R888R tires in size 265/35 R19 at the front and 345/30 R19 at the rear. Visually, they perfectly complement the blue and yellow Subaru WRC paintwork applied by Sean Smith Design with references to the Salzburg Porsche 917. And inside? Since the cabin remains spartan, with two Tillet B6 Screamer carbon fiber seats, racing harnesses, a digital instrument cluster and a new sports steering wheel. In addition to the Porsche 911 GT3 STI, the Eneos stand at SEMA will also feature a Tesla Model 3 Pikes Peak, a Nissan Frontier Race Truck with a Z engine and a tuned Datsun 521 pickup.
