Restomods are hotter than ever! To equip a classic old-timer with modern technology and, if possible, to stuff a powerful engine under the bonnet. This is the skeleton of a real Restomod. In 90% of cases, of course, then the body is completely restored and rebuilt from scratch. At least if you approach the whole thing professionally and want to create a real highlight. And that is exactly what the team of the Kaege GmbH Made under the label "Kaege Retro" from Stetten with a Porsche 993. Presented under the project name "KAEGE RETRO Classic - Silver Love no.06“The 993 shows itself with a filigree modified body and a lot of technical components of the present. The elegant in silver (Classic GT-Silver Metallic LM7Z) Painted 911 is of course restored from the ground up and it has the same widened body by a whopping 40 mm.
Exhaust pipes in the style of the F-model
Space enough to cover the new three-part Kerscher rims in the Fuchs design, which are equipped with Pirelli P Zero slippers. And a look through the small openings of the spokes reveals a Brembo sports brake system with blue painted brake calipers with “Retro” lettering and large perforated brake discs. It ensures a species-appropriate delay. The in-house main headlights, which shine in the original look, come with integrated LED technology and are of course far superior to the factory halogen lamps of the 993. The beautifully clean body is shown with many detailed accents such as the aluminum fuel filler cap, the specially made side mirrors or the Kaege emblem in the Porsche design at the front. And a lot has happened at the rear too. For example, there was an aluminum engine cover to cool the engine and here, too, the tuner has immortalized itself with an elegant lettering. And then there is the distinctive stainless steel muffler with two exhaust pipes in the style of the F model.
300 PS & 350 NM - the OBD-capable 3,6-liter engine
It is directly coupled to the 300 PS & 350 NM strong OBD-capable air-cooled 3,6-liter engine including 6-speed manual transmission, which is also completely rebuilt and breathes through a carbon intake. The trunk under the front hood is lined with original Porsche nappa leather and there was also plenty of high-gloss carbon that even allows a small view of the Lite Blox starter battery, which weighs only 2,2 kilograms. And the leather under the front hood can also be found in the interior. The color "cobald blue" was chosen to match the silver paint on the outside. The door panels, the sporty, ergonomic Recaro CS seats and the center console are finished with leather. And if you don't want to hear the air-cooled six-cylinder, but rather Disco Fox Charts from the 70s, the new loudspeakers of the high-performance sound system with high-end radio navigation system in a vintage look that fit discreetly into the interior ensemble.
Air conditioning and a state of the art Navi
The cabin still exudes the flair of the seventies, especially due to the classically interpreted measuring indicators. And compared to an original 993, the Kaege 100 is even over 5 kilograms lighter, which is clearly noticeable in terms of acceleration and consumption. The "KAEGE RETRO Classic - Silver Love" sprints to 100 km / h in just 275 seconds and reaches a top speed of an impressive 993. And whoever has now fallen in love with the one-off can even buy it.
