Rivian R1T with lift kit: electric pickup has 38 inch off-road tires!

In Florida, where everything is much bigger and more noticeable South Florida Custom Jeeps (SoFlo), the bosses behind the well-known Apocalypse 6×6 conversion, given a new challenge. The remodel was definitely new territory for SoFlo as they had never had one before Rivian EV tuned. Developing a lift kit for the special pickup was definitely not easy. Because the R1T's chassis actually has more in common with one McLaren than with a traditional off-roader. This shows how innovative and unique the R1T is in its design.

The current lift kit is still in the prototype phase, but it appears to have been implemented by lowering the subframe. And this is where it gets complicated: The Rivian has four engines, one for each bike. This makes developing such a kit a real challenge. The exact technical details are not yet fully known, but it is assumed that SoFlo will retain the standard chassis geometry and only use new ones attachment points created below. In addition to the lift kit, SoFlo also has one Metal underbody protection developed. This gives the R1T additional protection, especially when traveling off-road. With the lift kit, the R1T now appears to have at least 4 inches (about 10 cm) extra ground clearance to have.

And then there are the tires – huge 38-inches (about 1 meter) Off-road tires, which are so wide that they protrude clearly from the wheel arches. This wouldn't even be remotely acceptable in this country! But suitable ones will surely follow soon fender flares. And how does the modified R1T actually perform in practice? The team from Florida showed it in the following video: The tuned Rivian comes in one drag race against a Ram TRX with standard 35-inch tires. And although the R1T wins, the lead is not as big as we expected. It seems the big tires slowed him down a bit. But one thing is certain: The SoFlow Rivian R1T is an eye-catcher and shows what is possible in the world of electric vehicle conversions in the future.
