The top speeds of various Nissan GT-R models!

If you're wondering how fast the Nissan GT-R, you have come to the right place. In the following article we will compare the top speed of the Nissan GT-R in different versions and models. The Nissan GT-R is a legendary supercar that has been in production since 2007. He is the successor of the famous Skyline GT-R, which was built from 1969 to 2002. The GT-R is known for its fierce acceleration, sophisticated all-wheel drive and the high tuning potential. The top speed of the GT-R obviously depends on the engine, the year of manufacture and the level of tuning. The table below shows some examples of the GT-R's top speed in different versions and models:

Top speed Nissan GT-R

Version/Model Year top speed
GT-R (R35) 2007 310 km/h
GT-R (R35) 2011 315 km/h
GT-R (R35) 2017 315 km/h
GT-R Nismo 2014 315 km/h
GT-R Nismo 2019 315 km/h
GT-R R35 Alpha Omega 2013 374 km/h

As you can see, the GT-R's top speed is typically around 315 km/h, regardless of the version or model. That's because the GT-R is electronically limited to ensure safety. However, there are some exceptions, like the crazy one GT-R R35 Alpha Omega, the one Quarter mile record of 6,56 seconds and with a Top speed of 374 km / h has set up. He was from AMS Performance tuned and has a performance of over 2000 PS (even up to 3.000 hp).

Elimination of the electronic limitation!

If you want to increase the GT-R's top speed, you must remove the electronic limit and maybe tune the engine. Of course, this can lead to more wear and tear, more consumption and the loss of the warranty. You also have to note that the top speed of the GT-R depends not only on the engine power, but also on other factors such as air resistance, weight, tire pressure, etc. But at least we can say one thing: the transmission can still manage a few km/h. At 315 km/h it still doesn't turn in the limiter.

Other GT-R vehicles, some of which are faster than the series:

  • GT-R SpecV (R35): A performance-enhanced GT-R with less weight and improved brakes.
  • GT-R Track Edition: A version optimized for the racetrack, with special tires, brakes and suspension.
  • GT-R 50 by Italdesign: A limited edition model designed by Italdesign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the GT-R.
  • GT-R Nismo GT3: A GT-R specifically designed for GT3 racing.
  • AMS GT-R Alpha 12+: A GT-R modified by tuner AMS Performance that produces over 1.500 hp.
  • Switzer P800 GT-R: A GT-R tuned by Switzer Performance that produces 800 hp.
  • HKS GT1000+ GT-R: A GT-R modified by HKS that produces over 1.000 horsepower.
