Geez! Toyota Camry Solara as BMW E60 Cabriolet…

The Toyota Camry Solara, built from 1998 to 2009, was certainly not the most successful or even the most beautiful vehicle. Especially the somewhat misshapen convertible was a visual failure as we think. The coupe was somehow more bearable. And even if Toyota positioned the Solara in the upper middle class, and thus also in the region of a BMW E64 6 Series Cabriolet, the Japanese had no chance against the German competition and was therefore rightly not offered by us. But it was by no means so ugly that you had to use force to make a BMW out of it. But that is exactly what happened to this vehicle. A Toyota Solara Cabriolet that has mutated into the BMW "5 Series" Cabriolet as an M5 for the poor.

the side view reveals the fake

If you stand directly in front of the vehicle, the optical illusion is even a bit successful, but at the latest the side view with a view of the catastrophic beading of the front fenders reveals the base from Japan. And that's where the multicolored paintwork, the ultra-ugly rims with 5 spokes, or even the tri-color interior change something, based on the exterior paintwork. And with a high probability, the rear is even less successful. This is the only way we can explain that the seller has only photographed the lower part of the rear apron with the CATINBOW sports exhaust system including 4 tailpipes. However, the air opening between the tailpipes suggests that attempts have been made to imitate the M5.

Why do you do it for so much money?

If the former owner had given the Solara Cabrio in payment and the conversion costs (the body kit alone is said to have devoured $ 3.500) including the supposedly new convertible top packed on top of the proceeds, a good used 6-series convertible would certainly have jumped out. Sometimes the tuning thoughts are unfathomable. We know of course that "Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder". However, we have examined the vehicle extensively and have come to the conclusion that it definitely belongs in our tuning fail category because WE do not consider it beautiful. What is your opinion about this? Beautiful or not so beautiful? Please leave a comment here!
