Tiny cars like that Toyota IQ are not necessarily vehicles that you primarily expect on a racetrack. Small, light and manoeuvrable, their main area of application is the city, in which they can show their advantages. But exceptions confirm the rule, and so resourceful Japanese tuners have come up with something very special. Not only have you sharpened the look of the little city runabout, you have also transplanted an extraordinary engine into the rear. This Toyota IQ is one of the strangest projects on the Tokyo Auto Salon will debut in January 2022.
He plays the big brother!
A lookalike look is popular in Japan and so the tiny thing in terms of look and design borrows strongly from the much larger brand brother, the Yaris GR. The headlights, grill and taillights look almost identical if you compare them to the iconic Yaris GR racing roll.
Fats side skirts as well as a colored one roof spoiler already indicate the significantly increased potency of the city car. And the Drop center rims with a white finish in racing optics make the IQ a dynamic one. the Tubes on the rear axle are also significantly wider than those on the front axle, as the IQ has rear-wheel drive. the bonnet is made of carbon and we think it looks great on the smallest Toyota of all time. They are completely crazy exhaust pipeswhich as sidepipes protrude from the rear window, which extends far into the flank.
In addition, the little one got new ones Seitenblinker, which are now integrated in the mirror, and a bold black one Wire mesh grillthat signals that it is not a conventional IQ. With this elevator, even the Anti-Dynamic IQ becomes a real one track toolI'm sure to have a lot of fun with.
Sportiness moved into the interior!
There are now two in the cockpit Racing seatsthat look more like vices. This joins in Momo sports steering wheel. Also, a bespoke dashboard as well as a big one Monitor built in for the telemetry data, which means that modern technology can be found in the IQ. In addition, the Back seat removed so that the new engine can easily be accommodated. And that's why what was once the smallest four-seater in the world has now become a pure one Two-seater.
Engine of a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R
For the project was the tiny one 1,4 liter gasoline engine transplanted from a motorcycle. This is how the Toyota generates 211 PS and a maximum torque of 154 Newton meters. Power is most likely going through that Six-speed transmission the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R and it just gets that rear axle driven. With the engine, the IQ is likely to be one of the four-wheeled vehicles on this side of a Formula 1 car that reaches the highest speeds.
