Alan Mann (private racing team from Byfleet, Surrey) is considered a racing genius and once built two very special GT40s for Ford. They showed up with a special Aluminum body and with a revised Suspension. But very few people know that they even existed. But soon the manufacturer Ford will offer you one Tribute paintwork get back into your heads on the 2022 Ford GT. Then Ford Performance published a couple of teaser pictures today showing the front and rear of a "GT Heritage Edition 2022" show. You can see one Painting in the Alan Mann Racing Monaco red and gold based on the historic vehicles of yore. At that time, Alan Mann was supposed to build five GT40s for the Le Mans race. However, Ford changed the emergency vehicles at short notice and instead of the small-block V8 relied on the GT40 MKII (Evolution stages Mk1, Mk2, J-Car) with the larger big block 427 V8. This also won Le Mans. Alan Mann, however, already had two cars (AM-GT1 with 289-cui-Tuning V8 (4,7-liter) & AM-GT2 ) which later took part in some races such as the Sebring 12 Hours.

To make them faster, Mann replaced them body parts through lightweight aluminum and revised that Suspension. And he built more than 100 small details to make the pit stops faster. This included a position on the driver's side to be able to top up oil and also a Quick change braking system from Phil Remington he installed. The 2022 Ford GT Heritage Edition will not receive such technical specifications, but even in series production the current model is significantly faster and much more reliable than the vehicles from back then. We are curious to see when 2022 Ford GT Heritage Edition will officially be launched. If we get more information, there will of course be an update for this report.
