On Friday, Blankenfelde-Mahlow near Berlin will be energized, or rather: all under the sign of electromobility. Because on September 24th, fans of two- and four-wheeled electric vehicles will meet there "4th Annual E-Cannonball 2021". More than 70 emission-free cars and motorcycles are at the start of this slightly different Cannonball, which is not a wild race, but an emission-free endurance ride. Opel is the first car manufacturer to officially take part in the long-distance drive for battery-electric vehicles - and with two absolute highlights: the new bestseller Opel Mokka and the sensational one Opel Manta GSe ElectroMOD. Just looking at these two eye-catchers, the motto of this year's e-cannonball fits perfectly: "Feel the Energy".

Manta GSe ElektroMOD & Mocha-e

It starts on September 24th with the Park Fermé in Blankenfelde-Mahlow. There, the participants meet to exchange ideas - and of course to inspect their electric Cannonball runabouts. On Saturday, September 25th, it is time to get up early. Already at 6:30 a.m. the first vehicle starts the big tour to the south. After passage checks on the way, the battery-electric motorcycles and cars will roll into the destination in Unterschleißheim near Munich in the evening before all participants have to say goodbye on Sunday, September 26th. The field of drivers taking part in this year's E-Cannonball is just as top-class as the electric models. One of them is Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who remained loyal to motorsport after finishing his Formula 1 career and was involved in the German Touring Car Masters as an Opel driver. In 2005, the former Formula 1 driver and Opel DTM star Frentzen won the Monte Carlo Rally for vehicles with alternative drives with a HydroGen3.

The new Opel Mokka At the current electric drive, it not only shines with its bold, clear design - after all, when it premiered it was the first model with the new Opel Vizor brand face and the fully digital Pure Panel in the interior - it also impresses with its performance. The electric motor with 100 kW / 136 hp and 260 Newton meters of maximum torque ensures a powerful, whisper-quiet drive from a standing start; with the 50 kWh battery are up to 330 kilometers according to WLTP1 without charging stop in there. The electronically limited top speed is 150 km / h. A state-of-the-art regenerative braking system makes the Mokka-e even more efficient. This allows the Stromer to recuperate energy in the overrun phase or when braking. And for "refueling", the battery can be quickly charged up to 100 percent in 30 minutes on a 80 kW direct current column. The best prerequisites to cut a good figure on the long-haul trip to Munich.

With the  Opel Manta GSe ElectroMOD is an absolute collector's item at the E-Cannonball. A style icon - and that in a completely new, innovative guise! The purely battery-electric Manta is sporty like a real Opel GSe and proudly carries its ambitions in Opel's own name - ElektroMOD. MOD stands for change, for technical and stylistic MODIFICATIONS as well as a MODERN sustainable lifestyle. A car that arouses emotions and attracts everyone's attention with extravagant details such as its Opel Pixel-Vizor. Because there you can read what is important this weekend: “My German heart has been ELEKTRified. I am on a zero e-mission. ”As an unmistakable one-off, the Manta GSe starts in the hero class of the E-Cannonball.
