700 PS - Ares Design S1 Project Spyder comes without a roof!

Can you still misjudge this "Ares S Project" remember that the Italian tuner and manufacturer Ares design At the beginning of September this year initially as Rendering presented on Corvette C8 basis? Now the boys and girls from Modena are adding more! With the "Ares S1 Project Spyder". This is more or less the open version and probably the ultimate counterpart to the Ferrari Roadster Monza SP or the SLR Stirling Moss from Mercedes-Benz. The Ares Design S1 project Spyder simply takes the roof off the bodybuilder's recently unveiled coupe to be a particularly modern take on the classic Italian barchetta. This vehicle currently only exists as a rendering, but the company plans to build exactly 24 units. The S1 Project Spyder has a front end from the coupé to the area of the windshield, but there the roofless version only has two small wind deflectors ready for the two occupants.

According to Ares Design, however, the attachments are sufficient to direct the air over the heads of the driver and front passenger and act like a “virtual hood”. Behind the seats there are two humps with air inlets and we already know the rest of the virtual copy as a coupe from almost two months ago. In other words, the fresh air variant has the large horizontal LED strip at the rear across the entire width of the vehicle and the powerful diffuser. And for the first time, the company is also showing pictures of the planned interior. This is lushly lined with nappa leather, aluminum, carbon and Alcantara, and the driver and front passenger are separated from each other by a massive center console. The passenger apparently even receives a small infotainment system like in the Ferrari Roma and the driver looks at a state-of-the-art instrument cluster and receives a carbon sports steering wheel with a 12 o'clock mark. Incidentally, Ares Design is planning to install a V8 vacuum cleaner, which supposedly has around 700 PS (522 KW) and up to 8.800 rpm. should turn. It is supposed to be shifted by means of an eight-speed dual clutch transmission and the sports car is driven by means of rear-wheel drive.

It can supposedly reach 100 kilometers per hour in just 2,7 seconds and should be well over 300 km / h. Like the Ares S Project Coupé, the version without a roof is likely to use the chassis, engine and transmission of the new C8 Corvette. The GM 6,2 liter V8 is to receive extensive changes in order to increase the performance far beyond the standard 495 PS (369 kW). And allegedly, the upgrade is to take place “without charging” using a turbocharger or compressor. How one would like to achieve the output to over 700 PS and almost 1.000 NM torque remains a mystery so far. And the same goes for the price. Ares Design has not given any details in this regard for the S1 Project Spyder. Since the coupe should cost around 500.000 euros, a premium of around 100.000 euros should not be unrealistic. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
