We only know the characteristic four round tailpipes on BMW vehicles from "real" M vehicles such as the M2, M3, M5, etc. We have not seen them on an M Performance car, at least from the factory. But that's exactly what BMW is apparently planning for the future. Because the X1 of the next generation is supposed to be an M35i variant four tailpipes receive. At least that's what the last Erlkönig pictures suggest. And this one too Brooklyn Gray Metallic painted M240i xDrive received such a set-up. However, not from the factory, but from the British tuner Overkill performance. The built tailpipes each measure 100 millimeters (four inches) in diameter and are probably the most generous option that can be installed without making any changes to the rear apron. Incidentally, the flap function and the OPF petrol particle filter are still available. And how does the system sound? Is the shorter straight pipe setup noticeable on the left side? The video gives the resolution!

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
