Here comes the ultimate drag race! The classy 600 PS BMW M8 Gran Coupé (F93) competes against the no less classy 639 PS Mercedes-AMG GT63 S (X 290) and the sporty 625 PS BMW M5 Performance (F90). As you know, the M5 got relative this week extensively lifted but the vehicle from the video is still a pre-facelift model. Apart from the slightly shifted torque curve of the LCI compared to the pre-LCI, the performance of the M5 is identical. From a technical point of view, the M5 and M8 are almost identical, because the engine and gearbox in particular are the same. The M8 from the video by YouTuber "Alan Enileev" is not a performance model, which means that it has 25 hp less than the M5.
the "strongest" has 639 PS & 900 NM
In general, with “only” 600 hp, it is supposedly the “weakest” vehicle in the trio. The high-flyer on paper is the AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC + with the 639 PS & 900 NM strong M 177 V8-BiTurbo. According to the factory, the engine accelerates the AMG to 3,2 km / h in just 100 seconds and only at a powerful 315 km / h (electronically governed) is the end of sales. No less spectacular are the key data of the M5 Competition with S63B44Tx V8-BiTurbo, which, according to the factory, accelerates to 625 km / h in just 750 seconds with 3,3 PS & 100 NM torque and is allowed to run 305 kilometers per hour with the optional M Driver's Package . And finally there is the M8 Gran Coupe, which in this case houses the 600 PS and 750 Nm strong S63B44Tx V8-BiTurbo and, according to the factory, accelerates to 3,3 km / h in 100 seconds.
