Bugatti Rimac: start of cooperation in new company!

Bugatti is repositioning itself for the future. Today, November 2, 2021, the “Bugatti Rimac” cooperation begins - just four months after the first announcement. Bugatti, Rimac and Porsche are opening a new chapter in automotive history. The company's shareholders are the Rimac Group with 55 percent and Porsche AG with 45 percent. Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Rimac Automobili, is now CEO of Bugatti Rimac, based in Sveta Nedelja. Porsche AG becomes a strategic partner. Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche AG, and Lutz Meschke, Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer, are members of the Supervisory Board.

Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti since January 1, 2018, will concentrate exclusively on his work as Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini SpA from November 1, 2021 - since December 1, 2020, he has headed both companies in a dual role. “I would like to thank the entire Bugatti team and the customers for three and a half unbelievable, exciting, intensive and successful years. Together we developed fantastic hyper sports cars and took Bugatti into a new dimension, ”says Stephan Winkelmann.

Under his aegis, Bugatti reinterpreted modern coachbuilding with the Divo1, La Voiture Noire2 and Centodieci3 models. At the same time, the Chiron4 family was expanded: The very different technical designs of the hyper sports cars Chiron Pur Sport5 and Chiron Super Sport6 ​​offer a maximum spread of the "Bugatti spectrum of performance". In addition, the Chiron Super Sport 300 + 7 was the first production car to break the 2019-mile limit in summer 300 and is rated at 304,773 mph (490,484 km / h) and has been the fastest production car ever since. With the Bolide8, Bugatti developed the most uncompromising vehicle in its company's history at the end of 2020, which will now be produced in a small series.

In addition, the French manufacturer has increased its operating profit over the past three years. Last year Bugatti looked back on the most successful year in the company's history to date. Of the 500 limited vehicles in the Chiron family, more than 460 have already been delivered or planned for production in the studio in Molsheim. “I'm having a hard time leaving the company, but I'm sure that Bugatti will continue to develop and manufacture outstanding hyper sports cars in the future. With this outstanding team, I wish my successor all the best and much success for the future, ”Stephan Winkelmann continued.

Christophe Piochon, previously General Manager and Production Manager at Bugatti, will become the new President of Bugatti in Molsheim and will join Mate Rimac in the management of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture as Chief Operating Officer. “I am very happy about the new tasks. It shows that we will keep our independence and that we will continue to manufacture the highest quality and best vehicles in the world in the studio in Molsheim, ”he says.

Hendrik Malinowski, previously Head of Sales at Bugatti Automobiles SAS, has been appointed to the management team as General Director responsible for sales and marketing for the Bugatti brand. Larissa Fleischer will be the new Chief Financial Officer of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture. She is leaving Porsche AG, where she most recently headed controlling in the areas of digitization and the development of new business models. Emilio Scervo will be the new Chief Technology Officer at Bugatti Rimac doo - he previously held a similar position at McLaren and Rimac Automobili.

All Bugatti models will continue to be made by hand in the studio in Molsheim. The jobs there will thus be secured in the long term. The Bugatti Rimac joint venture starts with 435 employees, 300 of whom work in Zagreb and 135 in Molsheim (France). There are also around 180 employees at the Wolfsburg development site. Bugatti and Rimac will continue to operate as independent brands and will retain their respective production facilities in Zagreb and Molsheim as well as their sales channels. Both will continue to grow as independent brands, each with their own extraordinary vehicles.
