The madness on wheels! The manufacturer Bentley looks back on its roots and starts again with the Mulliner Bacalar with the individual body construction. The result is a dreamy handcrafted roadster that brings a massive 485 kW / 659 hp and tons of luxury. If you love classic automobiles, the Mulliner name gives you sparkling eyes anyway. But now there are not only refined Bentleys with Mulliner ingredients, but again your own vehicle. The British Nobel VW subsidiary gave the vehicle the melodious name Bacalar, which refers to the "Laguna Bacalar". It is part of the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula. Under the hood of the Bacalar sits an improved six-liter W12 biturbo that shakes a maximum torque of 485 Newton meters from its sleeve in addition to the 659 kW / 950 PS mentioned.
Dual clutch transmission & all-wheel drive
The power is coupled to an eight-speed dual clutch transmission and of course there is all-wheel drive. However, all four wheels are only driven when the road conditions make it necessary. If this is not the case, the Bacalar only runs with rear-wheel drive. That's how it should be for a roadster! And of course, it also received the trendy 48-volt electrical system and electrical roll stabilization to guarantee smooth driving behavior. The suspension is based on a variant with air suspension that balances the balancing act comfortable and athletic perfectly fulfilled. Apart from the Keyless-Go door handle of the Continental GT, the body is completely independent and has nothing in common with the current Bentley production models.
Optics of the Bentley EXP 100 GT study
It is largely based on the Bentley EXP 100 GT study that was presented to the world public last year. Even the track width is different because the Mulliner Bacalar is 20 mm more than the Continental GT. The wheel arches are filled with huge 22 inch aluminum rims and the luxurious cockpit is also quite independent. The driver and front passenger are enveloped in the cockpit and behind the seats, which have 296.398 stitches for the embroidery, there is space for Schedoni bags made for the Bacalar. Incidentally, the rotating display is known from the Continental GT.

And Bentley focused on using as many sustainable materials as possible in production. In the cockpit, for example, Riverwood wood from naturally fallen trees is used, which have been in the rivers and lakes of eastern England for around 5.000 years. And of course it goes without saying that this vehicle did not come off the assembly line, but was only manufactured on customer request. And that too 12 times!
