BMW 118i Limo (F52) with Camber-Tuning and roof box!

Almost every BMW model is perfect as a tuning object and the BMW 1 Series Sedan (F52), which was specially developed for the Chinese market, is no exception. Designed as a sporty alternative to the Audi A3 Sedan or the Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupé, this model is based on the UKL front-wheel drive platform, which in Europe houses the latest generation of the 1-series BMW, as well as the 2-series Active Tourer and 2-series Gran Tourer. The 2 Series Gran Coupé has recently been presented on this platform, which is poaching in the same segment as the BMW 1 Series Sedan, but has a younger clientele in its sights. Even if the smallest BMW sedan, known internally as F52, is relatively reserved and conservative in design, it seems to be becoming more and more popular in the Chinese tuning scene, so that we too became aware of a very special example of the series.

The BMW (118i) presented by us already pulls with its black roof box attracts everyone's attention, and reminds you in a certain way of the Audi RS6 from Jon Olssonwho also got a roof box as a tuning accessory. The typical kidney grille was kept completely in black and thus forms a very effective contrast to the sunflower yellow foil. In addition, a carbon front spoiler has moved in, which together with a Airride chassis gives the impression that the 1 Series is glued directly to the asphalt. Next to the roof box is that too Camber-Tuning, which creates a negative camber with the 225/40 slippers, very noticeable.

The rims come from Rotiform, have the format 18 inches (18×9.5J ET30/40) and listen to the model designation LHR. Above all, they stand out because of their bronze-colored paintwork and their classic design, which is a little reminiscent of the old BBS rims from the 1990s. The tread is chrome, and the low-bed look gives the 1-sedan a very sporty character. At the rear, the car was modified less, but it was given a carbon-look spoiler lip, which sits enthroned on the trunk lid. Tuned like this, the 1 Series would certainly also be an eye-catcher at European BMW meetings, because the modifications look professional and well thought out.

The drive train was not modified.

The sporty heart of the tuning object is a 1,5-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, which also does its job in the Mini Cooper and produces 136 hp. The maximum torque is specified as 220 Newton meters, which means that it is by no means weak or underpowered. This is also shown by the driving performance, as the little Chinese Bavarian accelerates to 9,4 km / h in a respectable 100 seconds and only has to put down his arms on the highway at 212 kilometers per hour. That should be completely sufficient for Chinese standards, as there are strict speed limits and exceeding the speed limit is accompanied by draconian penalties. With the tuning object presented by us, you don't want to race at all, but rather drive around comfortably on the boulevard to present your treasure to the outside world.

The F52 is extremely rare in Germany.

Fans of the 1-series sedan must know that this BMW can only be brought to Germany as a gray import, unless you get hold of one of the extremely rare test cars from BMW, of which only a handful drive around in Germany. So it is extremely difficult to put the model in the garage as a vehicle for the next tuning project.
