At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 in Las Vegas, the BMW Group will present to the public from January 7th to 10th, 2020 their visionary approaches to how mobility can be experienced in the future. The motto for this year's appearance is n #ChangeYour Perception. This is based on the conviction that not only can we understand the mobility needs of the future, but also be able to answer them. This change of perspective is not only shown and staged at this year's CES at the BMW Group's stand, but is also brought closer to visitors from all over the world through worlds of experience and practical demonstrations.
Highlight at this year's CES
For seven years now, the BMW i3 has been a figurehead and an icon when it comes to electric driving pleasure, sustainability and intelligent networking in urban traffic. It is these properties that make it the world's best-selling electric vehicle in the premium compact segment. With the BMW i3 Urban Suite, which will be used at this year's CES in Las Vegas, the BMW Group is presenting a mobility experience that is tailored to the individual needs of the passenger. For this purpose, a standard BMW i3 was completely redesigned except for the driver's seat and the dashboard, so that the interior is reminiscent of the relaxed atmosphere of a boutique hotel. The aim was to create a place of wellbeing for the passenger, in which he would like to stay either to relax, to enjoy the on-board entertainment or to be able to work concentratedly in a relaxed atmosphere. This is ensured, among other things, by the large and comfortable seat with footrest, a display that can be folded out of the headlining and a personal sound zone.
Leather and floor mats made from recyclable materials
With the BMW i3 Urban Suite, the BMW Group is also consistently thinking ahead in terms of sustainable mobility. The vehicle is also a holistic concept for the responsible use of resources, which in addition to the locally emission-free drive also includes the choice of materials and the manufacturing processes. Recycled materials were used in the fabrics, as were certified wood, olive-tanned leather and floor mats made from recyclable materials, which can be reintegrated into the material cycle in the sense of a circular economy. For use as part of the CES, a fleet of conventional BMW i3s was converted into urban suites in Munich and brought to Las Vegas, where they are also used on the city streets. With a special app it is very easy to order one of the BMW i3 Urban Suites and to be chauffeured to your desired destination. While driving, you can experience the innovative and sustainable mobility concept up close, which also impressively demonstrates that the size of a vehicle is irrelevant when it comes to luxurious mobility in the future. The BMW i3 Urban Suite is just one of the highlights of the BMW Group's presence at CES 2020 in Las Vegas. With the start of the fair on January 07th, the comprehensive information on all elements will be available.
