BMW is changing the fronts. What began with the facelift 7 Series or the X7 seems to be the norm for the other BMW models. This is also the case with the new M4, which will probably also appear with a powerful double kidney from 2020. Are the people of Munich increasingly orienting themselves towards the people of Ingolstadt? Or maybe you are already one step "greater"? The new front of the M4 is derived from the completely new BMW M4 GT3 (based on G82). Both are powered on the basis of the S58 twin-turbo, 3.0 liter, 6-cylinder, which produces more than 500 hp and is to be transferred to the road by means of all-wheel drive. A considerable increase compared to the current M4 (F82) models. And rumor has it that the M3 and M4 models from BMW will also be offered with manual transmission and pure rear-wheel drive.
narrow headlights & large kidneys
The official premiere of the racing car and road vehicles will probably only take place in the second half of 2020. The M4-based racing car will be available for amateur racing drivers for the 2022 racing season and will replace the M6 GT3. BMW wants to play a major role in international GT racing with the M4 GT3. "All BMW customer vehicles for racing will set new standards for sporting performance, which are all based on the platform of the GT3 racing cars."
the BMW M6 GT3 is about to be replaced
BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt is cited as follows: “The BMW M4 is the perfect basis for fulfilling the new GT3 regulations from 2022. Our colleagues at BMW M have once again done a great job. Visually and technically, the new BMW M4 GT3 will be an absolute highlight. It will be the new benchmark for many in the scene. " BMW purists find the new double kidney partly clearly too thickly applied and hope in part that the BMW Concept 4 Series Coupe a study will remain at the IAA 2019. The brilliant results of BMW in the racing of the present and the sporting ambitions for the future will help the BMW purists to overlook aesthetic little things like a kidney that is too big or other design elements.
