Limited Edition top model: the BRABUS 900 XLP "ONE OF TEN"!

After the great worldwide success of the BRABUS 800 Adventure XLP pickup based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63, BRABUS now has an exciting addition in the form of an even more powerful variant. The new BRABUS 900 XLP "ONE OF TEN" is powered by the most powerful engine from BRABUS production: The BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 biturbo displacement engine is an evolution of the G 4,5 engine with a displacement of 63 liters. The peak output is 662 kW / 900 hp. The maximum torque is 1250 Nm, but is limited to 1050 Nm in the vehicle. The high-end pickup accelerates from a standing start to 4,4 km/h in just 100 seconds. Because of the high center of gravity and the all-terrain tires mounted on specially developed BRABUS Z/HD 22-inch forged wheels, the top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h. The vehicle shown in the attached photos has a special paint finish in ROCKET Gray and a black BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior with carbon applications and red glazed elements.

The Ultimate Go Anywhere Pickup

The BRABUS 900 XLP "ONE OF TEN" will be built in a limited edition of just ten vehicles. With the BRABUS XLP pickup, the Bottrop-based company, which has been accredited as a vehicle manufacturer by the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg for decades, presented itself in the tradition of English coach builders for the first time in 2020 and developed its own body variant for the current Mercedes G-Class of the W 463 series.

In order to turn the off-road vehicle into a pickup with a generously dimensioned, really usable loading area, the BRABUS engineers designed a special module for the steel ladder frame using the latest design and construction software. This extends the wheelbase by 50 centimeters while maintaining the same high torsional rigidity. A new rear wall, which of course also has a heated rear window, closes off the cabin to the rear. The loading area is also a completely new design, making the vehicle 68,9 centimeters longer than a normal G 63 without a spare wheel at the rear.

In order to make the 5,31 meter overall length a real eye-catcher, CSP, the division of the BRABUS Group that deals with the development and manufacture of high-tech components made of composite materials, developed tailor-made carbon body parts such as the rear side walls, which are made of elaborate prepreg -procedures are produced. They are supplemented by newly designed steel parts such as the floor of the loading area and the tailgate that opens to the side. This mix of materials offers a perfect combination of fitting accuracy, maximum strength and high resilience. The Flexi-Teak planking of the loading area is not only extremely hard-wearing, but also gives the pickup a noble touch of yacht design. The double, matt black bracket behind the cab not only enhances the exciting pickup look: a wide variety of objects can also be securely lashed to it.

The extraordinary look of the off-road supercar is also particularly striking thanks to the BRABUS WIDESTAR body components: the flared fenders, which have additional wheel arches made of the same matt-sealed visible carbon, make the pickup 11,6 centimeters wider than a standard G model. The side body strips were made from this composite material, as was the BRABUS bonnet attachment with two power domes and the robust underbody protection elements at the front and rear. The WIDESTAR front apron not only gives the BRABUS 900 XLP "ONE OF TEN" with its large air intakes a particularly dynamic design: it also houses a massive front protection element and a cable winch with 4 kilograms of traction under the carbon-fibre radiator grille with the BRABUS logo .

Visible carbon cover with embedded BRABUS lettering

The visible carbon cover with embedded BRABUS lettering also gives the rear end a decidedly sporty look. There is also a WIDESTAR apron, which, like its counterpart on the front, connects perfectly to the extensions. The rocker strips were also tailored to the longer wheelbase and the high ground clearance of this pickup. On request, there are also additional, electrically extending steps that make it easier and safer to get on and off the pickup. LED lamps embedded in the extensions enable safe stepping even in the dark. Like the BRABUS logos on the fender extensions, they light up behind the front flares as soon as a door handle is pulled or the central locking system is activated by approaching the vehicle using Keyless Go.

The spectacular body design of the BRABUS 900 XLP "ONE OF TEN" is completed by the wind deflector made of carbon fiber mounted above the windshield with four additional LED lights and the roof rack. The supercar also lives up to its purpose as an absolutely off-road pick-up thanks to its special chassis, which gives it an extremely high ground clearance of 49 centimeters and enables a high level of articulation of both axles. For this, the BRABUS engineers and technicians developed a heavy-duty suspension with portal axles. This design principle includes special wheel carriers with integrated offset gears, which compensate for the height difference to the raised vehicle including the drive train. The parts required for this, such as the new integral carrier and the wishbones, are produced from high-strength aluminum using the latest CNC technology.

Axle parts redesigned

At the rear, as with the standard G-Class, the rigid axle principle is used. Here, too, the axle parts had to be redesigned and milled from solid. Changes include a stronger axle housing and all suspension links. This extensively calculated and tested axle geometry makes a decisive contribution to the outstanding off-road properties of the BRABUS pickup. A tailor-made version of the BRABUS Ride Control coilover kit was specially developed for the higher suspension. The driver can change the damping by pressing a button in the cockpit using the standard DYNAMIC SELECT suspension adjustment of the current Mercedes G-Class. In addition, the titanium-coated BRABUS aluminum chassis can also be adjusted in height.

The visual identification of the BRABUS chassis are the new BRABUS Monoblock Z HD wheels, which have been adapted to the portal axles with an eight-hole connection. In size 9.5Jx22, these light-alloy rims, designed for maximum robustness, perfectly fill the space under the visible carbon fender flares with Pirelli Scorpion ATR All-Terrain tires in size 325/55 R 22. For this first vehicle of the limited edition, the wheels were painted in gunmetal black and provided with red pinstripes. The name of this extraordinary supercar already gives it away: The BRABUS 900 XLP "ONE OF TEN" is powered by the currently most powerful engine from the wide range of engines from the Bottrop dream factory.

Eight-cylinder four-valve biturbo engine

Which is not only a technical but also a visual treat, as revealed when you open the bonnet with the hood: Under the BRABUS cover made of red carbon hides an eight-cylinder four-valve biturbo engine that has been upgraded with selected high-performance components. In order to achieve the targeted 900 horsepower, the engine block was revised as a first step. For the BRABUS 900 ROCKET V8 biturbo specification, the displacement has been increased from the standard 3982 cm³ to 4407 cm³. For this purpose, not only are the cylinder bores enlarged to 84 millimeters and correspondingly dimensioned forged pistons are installed in BRABUS engine construction. A special crankshaft milled from solid and finely balanced with a stroke extended to 100 millimeters and longer connecting rods matched to this complete the intervention in the mechanical inner workings of the V8.

In order to supply the high-performance engine with enough fuel and breathing air, the BRABUS engine engineers developed special high-pressure pumps with an increased delivery rate and a modified air filter system. In addition, the supercharging system was upgraded: the two series superchargers have to give way to two BRABUS high-performance turbos with a larger compressor unit and a special core assembly with reinforced axial bearings. They generate a maximum boost pressure of 1,4 bar. There is also an acoustic bonus in the form of BRABUS Boost Xtra, two special components for the two engine bypass valves.

clearly audible "blow off" noise

When the driver takes their foot off the gas, this measure produces a clearly audible "blow-off" noise reminiscent of turbo racing engines. The BRABUS high-performance exhaust system was not only specially designed for the longer wheelbase of the pickup. High-performance metal catalytic converters that reduce dynamic pressure are just as much a part of this exhaust system as special Otto particle filters and the two rear silencers on the left and right, each of which has two chrome tailpipes in sidepipe design that are led out in front of the rear wheels under the running boards. Integrated exhaust flaps enable active sound management from the driver's seat.

In the open position, the BRABUS high-end engine produces a robust, sporty eight-cylinder sound. When closed, the discreet "Coming Home" mode prevails. The entire BRABUS high-performance hardware was tuned to the engine, nine-speed transmission and all-wheel drive in extensive tests on stationary and dynamic test benches as well as in extensive driving tests. This results in new mappings for injection, boost pressure control and ignition.

900 hp already at 6200 rpm

The BRABUS 900 ROCKET V8 biturbo displacement engine opens up a new performance dimension for road-legal pickups: The peak output of the eight-cylinder biturbo of 662 kW / 900 hp is already available at 6200 rpm. The equally outstanding maximum torque of 2900 Nm is already achieved at 1250 tours. In order to protect the power transmission, it is electronically limited to 1 Nm in the car. The nine-speed automatic transmission can also be shifted manually using the ergonomically shaped BRABUS RACE carbon shift paddles on the steering wheel.

The driving performance is correspondingly outstanding: from a standing start, the all-terrain supercar accelerates to 4,4 km/h in just 100 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h due to the all-terrain tires. The driver and passengers of the BRABUS 900 XLP "ONE OF TEN" experience this superiority in a cockpit that offers luxury and individuality in its purest form. A tailor-made BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior is made for each vehicle in the in-house upholstery shop, which is designed down to the last detail according to the wishes of the vehicle owner.

the rear doors are modified

For easier entry and exit, the rear doors have been modified to open to a 90-degree angle. The passengers in the rear can find out about the time, outside temperature and speed via three instruments that have been harmoniously integrated into the roof liner with a special console. The vehicle shown in these photos was upholstered with the finest leather in mondial black as a contrast to the gray special paintwork. There are also tucks in jet black and black decorative seams. The center sections of the seats and parts of the door panels were quilted in a shell diamond design and perforated with millimeter precision.

As a contrast, the plastic parts in the interior were glazed in matt ROCKET Red. The exclusive designer cockpit also includes a watch designed by the luxury manufacturer Panerai in the design of their famous LUMINOR timepieces. An extensive carbon package and tailor-made aluminum components such as pedals and door-locking pins set sporty accents in the cockpit. The BRABUS 300 km/h speedometer corresponds to the enormous performance potential of this high-performance pickup. The BRABUS 900 XLP "ONE OF TEN" shown here costs 783.764,25 euros (prices including statutory VAT in Germany).
