We already knew that the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 with mid-engine V8 was fast! However, the fact that the basic model C8 Stingray at 100 km / h is about as fast as the C7 Corvette ZR1 with 755 hp is a surprise. And if you then install racing tires, this value can be reduced even further. And this video from Complete street performance on YouTube even shows that a 10-second quarter-mile time is feasible in series production. The vehicle from the video only installed the optional C8 rear wing and the mentioned racing tires (slicks). The additional grip in combination with the extra weight on the rear axle enables optimal traction. Driving on the Cecil County Dragway in Maryland, the C8 reached 10,92 seconds at 124,95 miles an hour (approx. 201 km / h).

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
