On the past Geneva Motor Show 2018 (8, March 2018 - 18, March) have specialists from RUF automobiles quasi the reinvention of the Porsche 964 presented. The Ruf SCR (2018) was designed based on the 911 of the 964 series and convinces with technical refinements under a dark green carbon fiber. The entire body of the 911 was made from ultra-light composite material. The SCR got a roll cage made of high-strength steel and a carbon chassis designed as a monocoque. Lightweight construction was a top priority in this project and the result is an impressive 1.250 kg and the fact that even a 718 Cayman is heavier.
A classic 4,0-liter boxer engine works under the hood, which manages without any charging and delivers a tight 510 PS & 470 NM. It is a high-speed unit that is supposed to achieve up to 8.270 revolutions per minute. Thus, the SCR is incidentally at the level of a current GT3 991. The top speed should be around 340 km / h and the transmission was nothing other than a classic manual transmission with 6 gears. So that the SCR lies like the proverbial board on the road, RUF installs the push rod suspension known from Formula 1.
No compromises were made with regard to the negative acceleration either, so there is a braking system with huge ceramic brake discs all around. Starting next year, the RUF SCR should be available in a limited edition of 15 vehicles per year and cost no less than € 650.000. If we get more information about the 2018 SCR, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
