This beautiful LS3-V8 Chevrolet Bel Air from 1956 is known as "Legacy'56" and an official vehicle of the well-attended SEMA Auto Show. And the Bel Air has a mighty LS3-V8 under the hood. The vehicle is owned by Dave from SoCal Classic Car Storage and the car has been in his family for decades. The classic was bought by Dave's grandfather, who drove the car in his high school days. Dave later received the car keys, although he knew from the start that he wanted to give the classic car a major upgrade. And he commissioned Ralph Holquin and his company RMD Garage to do this. When the 56 Bel Air was taken over, however, it was not in the best condition, so that an extensive repair of the body and cabin had to be carried out first.

LS3 V8 & Borla exhaust system

After several months and thousands of hours of work, the result speaks for itself. The 56 Chevrolet Bel Air was Legacy called and Dave chose "Marestr" as the license plate based on the grandmother. In view of the rear-wheel drive of the Bel Air, however, it is doubtful whether the grandmother could have handled a 450 PS strong LS3 V8 engine. Likewise, it can be doubted that they would have accepted the roaring Borla Performance sports exhaust system. Or maybe it is? We do not know it. What we do know is the fact that the Bel Air received a Roadster Shop chassis and a four-link coilover suspension. In addition, it is now delayed by a powerful Wilwood sports brake system with a 6-piston system and perforated and slotted brake discs at the front, whose brake calipers, painted in body color, are only visible at second glance.

Raceline fugitive rims

The sports brake system is hidden behind brand new Raceline Fugitive rims, which have a certain vintage style and perfectly match the classic lines of "Legacy". And then of course there is the dreamlike two-tone painted body. Everything unnecessary such as the rear-view mirrors, some trim strips or emblems were removed and then there was a chic vanilla cream white for the rear area, the sides and the roof in addition to the ruby ice red. And the aprons have also been redesigned and freed from unnecessary applications and only at second glance do the brand new main headlights with modern LED daytime running lights, for example, catch the eye. And a lot has happened in the cabin too.

For example, you can now sit on a Lexus seat and look at a dashboard covered in the vehicle color and countless other newly designed components such as the high-quality center armrest or the three-spoke steering wheel with leather rim. And if you look closely, you will also recognize buttons for an air conditioning system that has been retrofitted and is fully functional. Even the trunk is completely lined with leather and hopefully will never be used. Unthinkable if any dirt would mess up the light floor. The LS-Powered 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air is of course an absolute one-of-a-kind and cannot be priced either for money or good words.
