There is no question that the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is an absolute icon for men with rubber boots. The FJ40 was Toyota's breakthrough in the off-road segment and was built until 1986. And even today it is still one of the most fascinating Nippon climbers around. Although it took decades to build up the image, it can no longer be torn down. And if a professional company makes the effort to restore and rebuild an FJ40 down to the last detail, it is quite certain that another vehicle will contribute to the well-deserved image. And such a specimen is definitely this Legacy Overland FJ40 painted in the original forest green. The vehicle was created under the direction of the owner Robert Madeira in Greenwich, Connecticut and is of course an absolutely unique piece.

The boys and girls from Legacy have a lot of experience in the restoration, modernization and modification of classic off-roaders like the FJ40 and have taken countless hours of work for this special specimen. But the result is impressive! The vehicle was completely disassembled and even the smallest parts were restored, overhauled or completely replaced. And lots of mechanical modifications were made to the FJ. The 4,2-liter Toyota 2F engine under the hood received new pistons, rings, bearings, cylinder liners, etc., and even the crankshaft up to the valve seats have been redesigned. Furthermore, the transfer case and the four-speed manual transmission were re-synchronized and the bearings modified. After that, the FJ40 was equipped with new brakes. There were improved front and rear disc brakes and a beautiful 16-inch OEM wheel set with chrome-plated OEM wheel caps and BF Goodrich Mud / Terrain KM3 tires.

The chassis is equipped with Old Man Emu 2 inches (approx. 5 cm) springs for raising and of course there are also new Old Man Emu shock absorbers. And as expected, the spartan cabin has also been extensively modified. There was an individual leather interior with black accents and even a custom-made, padded center armrest and an additional roll bar are installed. A RetroSound vintage audio system with four loudspeakers and Bluetooth function provides new acoustics and the display of speed and speed is taken over by a new instrument cluster in OEM style. Countless details such as the full replacement wheel on the rear door, the new headlights and taillights with LED technology and the custom-made exhaust system round off the classic one-off from Legacy Overland impressively.
