Dhe unconventional Challenger brand from Spain is expanding its plug-in hybrid portfolio with a new top model: the CUPRA Formentor VZ e-HYBRID is now available to order. The addition “VZ” stands for “veloz” in Spanish and means “fast”. It also deserves this designation: With a system output of 180 kW (245 PS) and a powerful system torque of an impressive 400 Nm, it only takes seven seconds to reach the 100 km / h mark when accelerating from a standstill thanks to "electric boost". In combination with its sporty suspension setup and dynamic proportions, the Spanish CUV guarantees real driving fun à la CUPRA.
CUPRA Formentor e-HYBRID
The drive combination of 1,4-liter TSI and an 85 kW electric motor, which is fed by a 12,8 kWh battery, ensures intelligent and efficient control of the powerful drive train. In “Hybrid” mode, the electric motor supports the 1,4 liter TSI and acts like an additional booster. But the CUPRA Formentor e-HYBRID is also in purely electric mode - and therefore locally emission-free and extremely quiet - in this mode. Its maximum electric range in "E-Mode" is 58 kilometers (NEDC). The plug-in hybrid drive is programmed so that the Formentor VZ e-HYBRID starts automatically in E-mode. This requires a sufficiently charged battery and an outside temperature of over -10 ° C.

In addition to charging via recuperation when the vehicle decelerates, the CUPRA Formentor e-HYBRID is usually only fully charged externally. Depending on the power source, it is charged with 2,3 or 3,6 kW alternating current (AC) in 5 hours or 3 hours and 33 minutes from 0 to 100 percent. Very convenient: the driver can not only determine the time of charging via the infotainment system (use of cheap night-time electricity), but can also precondition the interior according to the season using air conditioning. Thanks to extensive connectivity functions, the charging process and air conditioning can also be conveniently planned and controlled using the CUPRA Connect app.
Extensive standard equipment
In addition to its expressive and unique design, the CUPRA Formentor e-HYBRID has a wide range of safety and comfort systems as standard. For example, the ACC automatic distance control, the CUPRA driving profile selection, the CUPRA sports multifunction steering wheel and CUPRA sports bucket seats at the front, high beam assistant, KESSY Advanced (vehicle recognizes the driver as soon as it approaches), the 10,25-inch multimedia system and the 10,25-inch CUPRA Virtual Standard on board cockpit.
In addition to the high-sheen 19-inch light alloy wheels, the "VZ" equipment variant includes adaptive chassis control DCC, CUPRA sports bucket seats, the driver assistance package XL, the 12-inch navigation system and a reversing camera as standard.
