The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept on the test track!

It was a real surprise at the IAA MOBILITY 2021 in Munich: CUPRA presented its new design vision in the form of a motorsport-inspired show car that offers a glimpse of the future, fully electric city car from the Challenger brand. But the CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept is much more than just a show car - it is a powerful racing car. And it is now proving that on the test track in Martorell. At the wheel: CUPRA Board Member for Research and Development, Dr. Werner Tietz.

Just in the showroom, now on the racetrack: After its unveiling, the new CUPRA concept vehicle turns out to be the brand's most radical vehicle interpretation: a racing car in which electrification meets sustainability and performance. The brand now demonstrated this revolution when it brought its rebellious racing concept from the showroom to the racetrack to unleash its racing spirit.

From 0 to 100 in 3,2 seconds

The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept accelerates to 100 km / h in just under three seconds. This is made possible by its two engines, which drive the racing car to top performance. The icing on the cake is the fact that this thrill is generated 100 percent electrically. "The CUPRA UrbanRebel is a bold statement from the brand that electrification doesn't have to be boring"says CUPRA board member Dr. Werner Tietz. “This vehicle has an impressive continuous output of 250 kW and a peak output of 320 kW. It's just a lot of fun to drive this concept "he adds.

Aerodynamic over the racetrack

Thanks to its wide air inlets and outlets and the oversized spoiler, the air resistance of the CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept is minimized when driving. The compact racing concept is 4.080 millimeters long and 1.444 millimeters high; Due to its focus on aerodynamics, it still maintains contact with the road with a lot of grip and easily goes into corners without losing stability. "With its unique chassis and steering set-up, the CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept offers high-precision handling that will also serve as inspiration for the future road version", concludes Tietz.
