299 PS / 500 NM torque and a top speed of 287 km / h! These are the key data of the Versus Performance MINI Cooper S F56 that was published a few days ago on the company's website. Please remember that the original model from 1963/64 came onto the market with an 848 cm³ 4-cylinder in-line engine and an incredible 34 PS & 60 NM torque. With a lot of start-up and good persuasion, with an empty weight of 620 kg, about 115 km / h were possible and the whole thing was available for the price of 5.780 DM. Over 50 years later, the Mini is there with about 9 times the performance and reaches well over twice the top speed. Even though the weight is almost three times as much ... We'd rather ignore the price! Crazy world and a good example of how far the development has come.
However, one has to say that the 299 PS & 500 NM torque are anything but standard, ex works the B48A20 TwinPower Turbo R4 delivers "only" 192 PS & 280 NM torque, which is already under for acceleration times from 0 to 100 km / h 7 seconds and a top speed of 235 km / h is enough. But thanks to Versus Performance map optimization, in-house downpipe Catless, as well as a complete Remus exhaust system with chic carbon tailpipes, a performance increase of 107 PS & 220 NM is possible, and this also results in the significantly increased top speed. And optically, you have put a little hand on the HotHatch and built a striking white Tomason TN17 wheel set in 8.00 × 18 inches in conjunction with a 30 mm lowering.
