Ford Maverick pickup pays homage to Marty McFly's Toyota!

The name "Maverick" has already been used by Ford for various models. Whether it's a compact SUV for Europe, a mid-size range for South America, or a small pickup truck for the US, they all call themselves Maverick. In general, Ford has a tradition of using model names for several completely different series that are visually unrelated. For example, there was the Fusion mini-SUV for Europe, which bore the same model name as the Mondeo in the USA. But now we come to the Ford Maverick Pickup, which we would like to introduce to you today.

Black is trump!

The vehicle was built by VIP Auto Accessoires and will be based on Marty McFly's Toyota pickup from the Hollywood classic Back to the Future. recall. And that fits in principle. Because Hilux and Maverick have a similar concept, since both are relatively cheap, compact pickup trucks that serve as a means of transport for the large masses in everyday life in the USA. The two vehicles are also visually similar.

The all-black Maverick, which also received black brake calipers and black "FORD" letters on the grille, was raised. A 2-inch lift kit and AT tires mounted on bronze-colored rims in a ten-spoke star design complete the homage to the Hollywood vehicle. There is also a massive loading area bracket with LED position lights behind the cabin. To underline the sporty character of the truck, the Maverick also got an air scoop and wider side skirts.

Two engines are on sale!

customers of Mavericks have the choice between a 2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2,5-litre hybrid drive. While the hybrid has a system output of 194 hp, the turbocharged petrol engine even achieves 252 hp without electrification. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via either a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available as an option. Unfortunately, we do not know which drive is installed in the vehicle we have described.
