There is a persistent stereotype that certain vehicles are suitable for certain types of drivers, and that the vehicle and the driver become more and more the same over the years. This could also be the case with the Finnish tuner and car fan Joni who modified his 1963 Ford Thunderbird individually according to his ideas. The car was originally built in the USA in 1963 and was also sold there. But in 1989 he found a new home in Finland. The roof of the Thunderbird, which was decorated with an ornate ornament in the style of the trident of Neptune, is unique and shows how much love there is in the tuning project.
But not only the elaborately designed roof of the car, but also that Custom Airride chassis, which was only recently installed, testifies to the high school of tuning that slumbers in the classic. the Flanks below the window line were also painted, in a shade of brown that mimics the hot rod style of the pre-war conversions from the USA. The total workload was around 100 hours, and from our point of view it was worth the effort, because the result is an automotive work of art that is second to none.
The ones that are almost measly by today's standards are also special 7 × 14 inch rims, which come up with a subtle whitewall look and have a five-spoke star design. The format of the tires is almost even more unusual, because these are tires with the right size 185 / 75 R14. Last but not least, it should be mentioned that the custom Airride chassis can be either by Controller in the interior, or can be set electronically via smartphone.
In our opinion, this Thunderbird is more than impressive, because the vehicle makes the hearts of many US car fans beat faster, and not only in the US car mecca Finland, where American vehicles have a firm place in the streets .
The interior is classic!
The cockpit was perfect restauriert, but still has the standard layout, and there were no modern comfort features in the car that dilute the original driving experience of a T-Bird of the 1960s.
V8 engine generates enough power
Unfortunately, we only know that the 1963 T-Bird has a large-volume V8, but not exactly what displacement it has. There are three different variants of the eight-cylinder that either 6,4, 6,7 or 7 liter displacement own. The performance is sufficient in any case, because with values between 300 and 425 hp the Thunderbird is at a high level. We don't know anything about the maximum torque.
