The Geneva Motor Show is traditionally the ideal stage for concept cars and super sports cars. However, this year it was canceled due to the coronavirus. GFG Style wanted to present three new concepts at this year's Geneva Motor Show, and the Bandini Dora Barchetta EV is one of them. The design forge, which was started by father and son Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, describes the Bandini Dora Barchetta EV as "hedonistic , open two-seater, which was designed for outdoor activities, just like the sports cars by Bandini from the 1950s.
Design is reminiscent of Formula 1 racing cars
With its design, the ultra-flat, open two-seater with a height of 1,15m is very reminiscent of current Formula 1 racers, to which the "Halo" called safety system, which has found its way into the Bandini Dora Barchetta EV, contributes. The car's halo system is designed to prevent serious head injuries to passengers in the event of a rollover, as the car has to do without a hood. The design of the front of the car is very reminiscent of current Lamborghini models, and the scissor doors are also very similar to those of the Lamborghini Aventador. At the rear, however, the Bandini Dora Barchetta EV has no resemblance to a Lamborghini, but has a completely independent design. The construction consists of an aluminum chassis and a carbon fiber body, which means that the Bandini Dora EV Barchetta should have a high level of body rigidity while being lightweight.
The electric motor delivers sufficient power.
The four-wheel super sports car is powered by an electric motor with 545 hp and 680 Nm of maximum torque. The car, which is said to have a range of over 450 km, generated by a 90 kWh battery, storms from 3,3 to 0 km / h in 100 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km / h. Thus, the inclined sports car driver can sometimes show what's in the flounder when he needs to press hard on the tube. The top speed was electronically limited in favor of a longer range, so it would be quite possible that there could be an unlimited version. The power is transmitted via a continuously variable automatic transmission, as is currently the case in electric vehicles.
Bandini Dora Barchetta EV is initially just a study.
The concept car called Bandini Dora Barchetta EV is not yet ready for series production, and it remains to be seen whether there will ever be a limited small series of this car. So far there is only one prototype that should have been presented at the Geneva Motor Show if it had not fallen victim to the Corona crisis. In any case, there are certainly already solvent interested parties for such a fascinating automobile, which would certainly have deserved a small series. In any case, it is very exciting to continue to follow the project to see whether the development will continue in the direction of series production or whether it is a one-off experiment by GFG. If you decide to revive the legendary Bandini brand and manufacture the car in a small series, then this fun should certainly cost a lot of money.
