Everyone should know that the BMW 2002 is an icon. Especially legendary are the 2002 touring cars of the 70 years which now wants to bring the team of Gruppe5 Motorsport (USA) back to the present. This is what the tuner is looking for 300 old BMW 2002 (built from 1968 to 1975) which receive a complete metamorphosis. The vehicles should be completely reminiscent of the group 5 vehicles of the German racing championship from 1977 and the first virtual pictures are promising. The donor vehicle will of course be completely disassembled, restored and then rebuilt. New components made of carbon, aluminum or steel provide more stability with less weight. The body gets a powerful front apron including spoilers and spacers in the style of a typical race car.

The hardcore widebody kit comes with air vents on the side and a fixed rear wing. The finished vehicle should weigh only about 1.000 kg, but due to the aerodynamics produce good 1.100 kg downforce. A guarantee for high cornering speeds! Incidentally, compliance with the FIA safety protocol is part of the remodeling and as a highlight it should even be street legal, at least for the US. The core of the conversion will be found under the hood. Instead of the 2,0-liter four-cylinder, the S85-V10 from the BMW E60 M5 / E63 M6 is to be used and drilled up to 5,8 liters of displacement. Planned performance at least 745 PS. If that's not enough, you may even get an 5,9 liter option with 803 PS (599 kW).

In cooperation with Riley Technologies (Designer of Daytona Prototypes) and the specialist Steve Dinan from Car train Autoworks the conditions are given in any case. One would like to build a total of 300 vehicles of which two-thirds will receive the 744 PS variant of Dinan while the remaining vehicles will get the 803 PS unit on the way.
