New Honda Civic Type R with Mugen tuning parts for TAS 2023!

From the provider Mugen there is a wide range of tuning products for almost the entire Honda-Car range. But the new one wasn't there yet Honda Civic Type R. But that will soon change. A whole series of upgrades were shown at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2023. From the photos you can see that the Honda Civic Type R. Mugen Concept is equipped with an aggressive body kit. The highlight at the front is the carbon fiber bonnet with functional air vents and the large front splitter is also made of carbon. The splitter looks similar to that of the Civic Type R racing in the Super Taikyu Series. The wider front fenders with integrated gills are combined with new alloy wheels and modified side skirts made of visible carbon. Mugen has swapped the rear wing for a much larger one.

There is also a set of extensions for the apron at the rear. The new diffuser also houses a centrally mounted round tailpipe, which is certainly part of a complete sports exhaust system. Mugen hasn't revealed any mechanical or chassis changes yet, but the concept car appears to be lowered. You can also see a larger braking system with Brembo calipers. While the model at TAS 2023 is just a prototype, Mugen is considering putting the components into production. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
