The Jaguar brand is known as a British luxury brand that is responsible for vehicles that embody noblesse, style and luxury like no other. This is still the case, but the brand with the big cat name can also be completely different, because not only luxurious decadence, but also noble sportiness is part of the British agenda. For example, the vehicle that we are introducing to you in more detail today is one of only 45 copies the hardcore racing variant of the XK, the XKR-S GT. This automobile was specially developed for the racetrack, and was intended to demonstrate the circuit potential of the Jaguar XK, which is normally only used for drives on the boulevard or in the countryside.
Decadence and sportiness in harmony!
Exactly 5 of the 45 specimens were registered in Canada, just like the model we presented, which is based in Calgary, the venue for the 1988 Winter Olympics. For many people, the Jaguar XK is one of the most decadent automobiles of our time, but this version clearly shows the sporting potential in this car. It was also the last special edition of this series before it was retired.
This allowed the responsible designers to really let off steam and missed the XKR-S GT wide flared fenders, a Carbon fiber rear wing, an enormously sporty one diffuserwhose look immediately indicates where the journey should go, dynamic front splitter and Carbon mirror caps. For optimal deceleration values were still Carbon ceramic brake discs with Six-piston fixed calipers on the front axle as well Four-piston fixed calipers installed on the rear axle. Unfortunately, we do not know anything about the diameter of the brake discs. We are of the opinion that the XK can certainly be seen on the racetrack, but belongs much more in solvent and loving collectors' hands who appreciate the exclusivity.
The interior is as luxurious as usual
The standard highlights of the bolide's equipment include electrically adjustable ones Sports Seats with black leather cover, fabric applications and red decorative stitching. The interior is also home to Bowers & Wilkins sound system, which ensures an optimal sound experience in the car. The dashboard and various parts of the cockpit are black piano lacquer overdrawn.
5-liter V8 compressor provides propulsion
It should be clear to every car fan that such a bolide drives up with an engine that is befitting of its standing. And with the Jaguar XKR-S GT, no exception was made, because the vehicle has a 5 liter capacity V8 petrol engine with supercharging. The engine generates 550 PS and 680 Newtonmeter maximum torque, which mutates the XK into a thoroughbred super sports car. One Six-speed automatic with active differential drives the rear wheels.
Our Conclusion for Jaguar XKR-S GT:
A wonderful masterpiece of British automotive art. From our point of view, such a vehicle absolutely has to get into the hands of loving collectors in order not to burn it up unnecessarily and wear it out.
