The four-door Mercedes CLS Coupé with internal designation C257 is currently one of the most beautiful (if not the most beautiful) Vehicle on the market and a real style icon. And it already has a real tradition. After all, it has been on the market since 2004 (Gen.1 C 219, Gen.2 218) and with the Volkswagen CC and the Audi A7 Sportback there were two imitators, but at no point were they any real competition. With the CLS, Mercedes ventured into new territory, because a four-door coupé has never been made by a German manufacturer to date. But if you think that you can't "beautify" the pretty boy even more, you don't have the team at mariani car styling expected. They have buttoned a black CLS 450 and refined it perfectly with skilful changes. As always, one relies on an understatement appropriate to the vehicle. At the same time, however, the changes make a clear difference to the series.
Mariani Mercedes-Benz CLS
The heart of the conversion is clearly the new forged wheel set. Mariani installed a one-piece 5-spoke rim in elegant dark gray with stately dimensions. From now on, the front wheel arches fill 10,5J x 21 inchers and the rear axle is even more powerful. Here, the wheel arches are filled with 11,5J x 21 inch copies including 305 slippers as befits their status. However, the wheelset only really comes into its own once the lowering has been carried out. Mariani achieved the lowering of the CLS using the factory-installed AIRMATIC air suspension. Because the air suspension was persuaded to lower the CLS by means of electronics intervention. The usual high level of ride comfort and excellent driving dynamics are retained. And almost even more important is the fact that the air suspension was adjusted without interfering with the series electronics. This means that the factory warranty is fully retained.
Panamericana grille on the CLS
And stylish changes have also been made to the body. At the front, the CLS now has the popular Panamericana grille with the look of the AMG GT or the GLC 63 AMG, which can be installed using the plug-and-play method. And at the rear, the luxury liner shows itself with AMG tailpipes from the GT63, which are installed on the six-cylinder (M 256 E 30 DEH LA) while retaining the original exhaust flaps in the form of a sports exhaust system with OPF. And finally ... An impressive vehicle that has been perfected with skilful accents! If we receive information on further changes in a timely manner, there will of course be an update for this report, as always.
