It's hard to believe that at the Audi Annual General Meeting in May 2019, CEO Bram Schot declared the R8 (next to the TT) to be a phase-out model! And how real this situation is is now shown to us by Audi USA, who have already completely removed the R8 V10 quattro from the program. A strictly limited special model (30 vehicles, milled 20 incher, aluminum mirror caps, red painted brake calipers, carbon parts, Alcantara headlining, price approx. 162.000 euros) on their feet, but this does not provide real comfort. Pictures from the company from Kalletal are currently reaching us of a converted R8 V10 + (Type 4S), which make it far more difficult to say goodbye to the super athlete from Ingolstadt.

The refined copy leaves no doubt that the R8 was and still is an absolutely exceptional vehicle with an addictive factor. Especially when some modifications have been made. And this R8 definitely got it. The sporty, aggressive body was given a front apron attachment, a very successful rear diffuser and a fixed rear wing. All add-on parts are of course made of carbon and therefore ultra-light. And then there is the beautiful wheelset with the - versus the series - significantly increased dimensions. On the front axle, Mariani installed 9 x 20 inch copies and the rear axle is equipped with huge 12 x 20 inch models including 305 Conti slippers. And they were pressed into the wheel arches of the R8 with millimeter precision using a set of coil springs.

The result of the optical changes is a highly aggressive super sports car that doesn't have to hide behind any Lamborghini Huracan or McLaren 570S. But on the contrary! The appearance is extremely confident and sporty and is also underpinned acoustically by a handmade sound change based on the original flap system.
