No, there is no large-volume V8 petrol engine in this supposed AMG-Mercedes. Instead, a powerful 3-liter R6 turbo diesel does its job, which we will go into more detail about later. The "reasonable" alternative to the powerful eight-cylinder forms the entry into the world of the G-Class, at least in Europe, and is significantly cheaper to buy and maintain than a G 63 AMG, for example, which is particularly expensive. Today we would like to introduce you to a G 400 with a diesel engine that looks like the AMG models, but is much more economical to drive.

Powerful optics on the G!

The in-house off-road specialists Delta 4 × 4 thought that the G 400 d could also be increased by 50 millimeters raise and by 80 millimeters widen can. To achieve this, the vehicle got powerful fender flares, which are strongly reminiscent of the AMG G-Class. Of course, there was also the already mentioned lift kit, which increased the ground clearance by 50 millimeters increased, to make difficult terrain easy for the Colossus.

But that's not all, because there are also a few small gimmicks on the G-Class, such as the AMG-style Panamericana grille, a front one Brush Guard as well as one roof structure with LED auxiliary headlights. The rims have a diameter of 10,5 × 22 inches and listen to the model name Delta4x4 Classic B. For better off-road capability, the wheels were fitted with coarse studs All-terrain tires raised.

The already mentioned diesel engine with six cylinders is responsible for propulsion of the G-Class. It delivers 330 hp and generates a maximum torque of 700 Newton meters. It catapults the colossus from 6,4 to 0 km/h in an impressive 100 seconds and the top speed only ends at 210 kilometers per hour. Power is transmitted permanently to all four wheels via an automatic transmission.
