An Mercedes The S-Class has long been one of the vehicles that are sometimes heavily modified. Previously unthinkable, it is no longer an insult to majesty to give the largest sedan in the Mercedes model range a body kit, for example. However, there is often no need for such tuning, because the S-Class in particular radiates a sublime yet relaxed presence even in the standard version, which is quickly lost through too many modifications. The latest restyling kit for the current generation (W223) of the largest Swabian comes from Forest International, a tuning workshop from Japan. And in this case, the tuning harmonises with the elegant characteristics of the S-Class in any case.
Black is trump!
A satin black look dominates the exterior of the luxury sedan. We assume that it is not a repaint, but a Vollfolierung acts. Tuner Wald International, which is known for its Black Bison models, did without too much showmanship this time and subtly modified the thick Benz with a few attachments on the front, sides and rear. For example, a completely new front bumper was installed, which features large Porsche-style air intakes.
There are also new ones on the flanks side skirts and at the rear a subtle spoiler on the trunk lid. Also a small one roof spoiler, which was installed above the rear window, can be seen. In addition, the diffuser has been redesigned with four fins. It now houses a rear fog light, in the style of a racing car. To complete the evil look, there was forgiato- Alloy wheels in Y-spoke look with a shiny silver finish and also black emblems all around can be seen. Also were new exhaust pipes installed, which may lead to a Sports exhaust system owned by Wald International. Last but not least, the windows are tinted all around.
A 4-liter biturbo V8 petrol engine provides propulsion!
Even in times of electrification and downsizing, the S-Class remains true to its drive concept. A V8 petrol engine that delivers 503 hp and a whopping 700 Newton meters of maximum torque catapults the luxury liner from 4,4 to 0 km/h in just 100 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 kilometers per hour and the power is transmitted permanently to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Our conclusion:
- Tuning the S-Class is and remains a matter of taste. But Wald International shows how it is possible to modify the limo in such a way that it doesn't look embarrassing, pretentious and chubby at the same time. We give it a thumbs up for that.
