This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback as Restomod is something very special! Because its engine was swapped for a 1997 V8 from a Lincoln Mark VIII. And then it also has an interior from the specialists at Gabe's Custom Interiors receive. And even the body is completely new! According to AutotopiaLA's Shawn Davis, the Mustang Fastback was restored and rebuilt for over a year and completed just days before the video embedded below was recorded by owner Mike. And first of all, of course, the hood was opened to admire the Lincoln engine. As mentioned, it comes from a Mark VIII from 1997 and has a 4,6 liter displacement. A very safe and above all reliable engine with almost 300 hp on the test bench. And the owner knows that's not really much. But he really wanted a vehicle that was easy to drive. And it worked! Because the Mustang is light-footed and not top-heavy. And then there is the extraordinary look. The flawless exterior looks absolutely crazy thanks to the shade chosen.

Body made entirely of metal

But also because the crew that worked on the body decided to remove all fiberglass and decorative components the old school. Since then, everything has been made of pure metal in order to keep it as close as possible to the original. This even applies to the aprons or the extremely successful fender flares all around. Overall, the body is exactly 10,16 centimeters wider, which you don't see at first glance in the Mustang. And the extremely successful old-school look is highlighted with some modern components. For example, there are the taillights from the present. They are perfectly integrated into the rear silhouette, but are equipped with ultra-modern LED technology instead of dim halogen lights. And the craftsmanship is also evident in the completely redesigned interior, which was made with the help of Gabe's Custom Interiors (tuners from California). The specialists even created a bit of a European atmosphere with Lamborghini switches and they also installed the 2017 Mustang gear lever.

This is joined by a completely new center console with infotainment system, there were new displays with a large rev counter and speedometer, lots of leather and a beautiful sports steering wheel with high-gloss black lacquered spokes and a leather rim. In combination with the successful forged wheels with XXL drop center, the classic ones Window scoops The spectacular look is impressively presented on the side windows, a typical Mustang stripe over the body or even the tiny exterior mirrors. And finally ... a beautiful vehicle and of course an absolutely unique piece. In our opinion, the only thing missing here is a compressor to help the engine to +500 hp!
