It consists of a chassis from the 911 Cabriolet (964 series) and has a carbon body, a six-cylinder boxer with 250 hp and 310 Nm, a five-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive. The Panamericana was and is one of the most unusual XNUMX ever from Porsche hand. The completely different carbon body was made by Ulrich bez designed that also the BMW Z1 had drawn. But a high-performance dune buggy was new to Bez too. The source of inspiration and the name giver was by the way Panamericana Carrera, a popular endurance race in the 50er-year. Unfortunately, the Panamericana remained a design study. Pity!
928 GTS and 959 elements on the buggy
A XNUMX with open wheel arches, long suspension travel, a removable fabric top with zip and mighty slippers would have been a lot of fun. With the turquoise paint, some elements of the Porsche 959 and the red bar between the taillights based on the 928 GTS he would definitely have caused astonished looks. He was a Gift for Ferdinand Anton Ernst Porsche (alias Ferry Porsche) on his 80th birthday. That was the Sohn of the company founder Ferdinand Porsche.
