Brevity is the soul of wit! Or something like that ... In any case, the so-called "shortening"So that subsequent shortening a car body, even today a change that is sometimes carried out, but which is extremely time-consuming. However, if it is carried out correctly and cleanly, the result is always an eye-catcher. The best example is the recently introduced one Mini shorty widebody and also this special miniature version of the VW Beetle is a real eye catcher. And another “shortie” is this fascinating one Plymouth Duster from 1971. It was apparently already "shortened" back then, so the wheelbase of the Duster on just yet one third has shrunk compared to the series. The front and rear overhangs are against it unchanged. It continues with classic five-slot rims, quick release on the hood, a new one Interior with the back seat leaning backwards without headrests and most likely the one positioned between the feet Selector lever for the automatic anything but convenient or even practical. Due to the significantly shortened cabin, there was probably no alternative.

  1. My husband, Harry built this car. He won a trophy and money at the Harrisburg, PA car show back 1974/75. It was good to see it is still in pretty good shape!!
