Bargain: Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake for 5.100.000 Dollars

Not only was the 2015er Shelby Mustang GT2016R sold for 350 $ at the 1.000.000 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, no, much more was paid for the sole copy of the Bad Boy 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake. The sum of 5.100.000 dollars put a bidder on the table to secure the exotics.

The chassis of the CSX 3015 was a 427 (7 liter) competition roadster that was only available 23 times. After a few years this car was converted for the road, not by anyone, but by Carroll Shelby himself. The second copy ever built belonged to comedian Bill Cosby for exactly one trip, who sold it to the later owner who sank the Cobra in the sea. We wish the 66 model a significantly longer life.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
