Shelby Dragonsnake Cobra is back as a continuation car!

Here comes the resurrection of a true speed demon - the Shelby Cobra. Yes, you heard that right, that's the Shelby Cobra that enjoyed circuit racing success in the 1960s and had a notable career on the drag strip. Now, decades later, Shelby American ties back to the glory era. And title do that Continuation Car again as "Dragonsnake"! Because the Dragonsnake variant of the Cobra achieved some notable successes in drag races, which impressed company boss Carroll Shelby so much that he decided to start a small series of the powerhouse.

And now it looks like the legend lives on, as Shelby American has announced that it will produce five full-length replicas of the Dragonsnake as a Continuation series. The magnificent creatures are built by Legendary GT in Pennsylvania, where other Cobra Continuation vehicles are also built. The basis is the CSX2000 series with aluminum body and tubular steel frame, and of course the obligatory bolted hardtop will not be missing.

In a nostalgic touch, each of the five vehicles is painted in purple metallic. The shade is reminiscent of NHRA champion Bruce Larson, who is considered the most successful Dragonsnake pilot ever. A six-liter aluminum V8 will roar under the hood, sucking in its mixture through four Weber twin carburettors and open flame screens. Shelby specifies the car's power at around 500 hp at the crankshaft. And power is sent through a five-speed Tremec manual transmission to the rear wheels, which are backed by 15-inch dragster tires. Shelby hasn't mentioned any performance yet, but with a weight of almost 950 kilograms, the 500 hp should have an easy time.

at least 750.000 dollars are due

So if you're ready to tame the beast on the slopes, you'll need to be prepared to shell out at least $750.000 for the Dragonsnake's base configuration. However, Shelby American even offers customizations in case you want to customize the vehicle to your personal taste. So Shelby American brings back the successful Cobra dragracer Dragonsnake from the 700.000s, in a limited edition of only five.
