The first Shelby version of the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT was presented yesterday by Shelby American. And the Stromer will initially only be sold exclusively in Europe. The name is simple: Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT. And the changes compared to the series are also rather "simple". Shelby didn't do anything to the performance to make the Mach-E GT even faster in a straight line. Instead, the decision was made to improve handling and slightly change the look. The Mach-E GT from Shelby American got a lowering by means of Lowering springs by 1 inch (2,54 cm) and lighter rims in satin black are mounted. The Stromer was also given a number of carbon fiber parts, which are intended to reduce the weight slightly.
Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT
Shelby gives the Mach-E GT a carbon hood, carbon grille, carbon mirror caps and carbon fiber door panels. The tuner and manufacturer also equips the Mach-E GT with Borlas "Active performance sound system' for electric vehicles. This is an external speaker system that Borla developed to mimic the engine and exhaust sound of a combustion engine. The idea behind it is to create a realistic soundscape. It actually sounds reasonably good, but in detail it is reminiscent of the many reprogrammed diesel vehicles in the form of aka Audi A6, BMW X5 & X6 etc. It is also plain and simple FAKE! So that's nothing for us. Other changes to the Shelby Mach-E GT include various emblems and badges, Shelby decals, Shelby floor mats and a consecutively numbered plaque on the dashboard. Only 100 Shelby Mustang Mach-E GTs one wants to build for Europe and Shelby states that the entire package will cost customers exactly €24.900. And anyone who wants the bundle must either already own a 2021-2023 Mach-E GT or buy one later this year.
Aaron Shelby, Board Member of Carroll Shelby International and grandson of the company's founder, explained why the offer is limited to Europe only: "We have decided to initially only offer the Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT in Europe because sales of electric vehicles are growing much faster there than in the USA. And from 2016 to 2021, the number of public electric vehicle charging stations in Europe increased by 431 percent. It just makes more business sense for Shelby American right now."

According to Shelby, further projects in the field of electric vehicle performance are to come in the future, but at the same time Shelby also gives a guarantee that in the next 12 months "several new models“ will be presented with V8 engines.
