Fruble Fabrication, a design company, is presenting an innovative DIY camper kit for the Tesla Model Y on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The 31-piece kit makes it possible to convert the Tesla Model Y into a camper van by integrating a lot of storage space and a camp kitchen. The concept of the kit envisages that a spacious lying surface is created after installation. With the tailor-made kit, Tesla Model Y owners receive a DIY product that enables them to use the vehicle in a much more diverse way. The modular system is designed to be easily and independently integrated into the Tesla, keeping the vehicle tidy. All the necessary items for camping or holiday trips can be accommodated in several boxes.

The kit includes a cooking plate that can be pulled out of the trunk, while a foldable plate from a neighboring box serves as a work or storage surface. The camper kit is made of chipboard and is characterized by high-quality, well thought-out and solid workmanship. Precise drilling makes it easy for buyers to assemble the set by themselves and install it in the vehicle. First, the rear seats are folded down, creating a flat surface on which to place the wooden boxes. The highlight of the design, however, is that the boxes side by side and are not arranged on top of each other, creating a large area that can later be converted into a comfortable place to sleep with a mattress.

However, the Kickstarter project is limited to 50 participants for the time being. Worldwide shipping is offered in the description and deliveries are scheduled to start from July 2023. Those who invest in the project on Kickstarter pay 1.500 Canadian dollars, the equivalent of around €1.000. Later, the price is apparently raised to 2.300 Canadian dollars, as Fruble Fabrication advertises that backers can save 800 dollars (approx. €535). With the clever kit, Tesla Model Y owners can easily convert their vehicle into a fully functional camper without sacrificing comfort and functionality.
