Have you waited for the Toyota Supra with four-cylinder? Or does a Supra have to have a six-cylinder under the hood? We are of the opinion YES! And if it had been up to us, an alternative to the current three-liter six-cylinder in-line engine (B58, 24 valves) with 250 kW (340 hp) would be the completely new 6-cylinder from the X3 / X4 M with M TwinPower Turbo technology and full 510 PS & 600 NM from BMW. So one floor above and not below! But please not a two-liter turbo with 258 hp and 400 Nm. Although this, in combination with the ZF eight-speed automatic, and with 100 kg less curb weight, is able to accelerate the Supra properly forward, in our opinion it doesn't really fit. The weight balance of a perfect 50/50 per axle is of no use either. Supra = 6 cylinder!

for four- and six-cylinder

A Supra MUST have pressure and, in our opinion, should urgently be raised to the level of a Nissan GT-R or BMW M3. Fortunately, there are tuners like the McChip-DKR team who think about how to increase the performance of the new Supra. And the tuner has an upgrade ready for the straight six AND the new two-liter four-cylinder. Using chip tuning software, McChip increases the power of the two-liter four-cylinder from 197 hp to an impressive 290 hp, and the torque goes up from 310 to 420 Newton meters. The top speed is then at least 262 km / h. The B58 six-cylinder is significantly more powerful after the "upgrade". Using the Stage 1 kit, McChip achieves an additional 80 hp and 80 Newton meters, so that the 3,0-liter engine generates 420 hp and 580 Newton meters.

will the 500 hp mark drop soon?

Here the V-max increases. from 250 to 265 km / h. And if that's not enough, you can even get 2 hp and 445 Newton meters using the Capristo downpipe as Stage-600. And with a high probability there will soon be a Stage 3 kit which, in combination with modified turbochargers, will then have the 500 PS brand firmly in its sights. Then the Supra is finally at the level we imagine. Incidentally, in the United States, the Supra is allowed as A91 edition with 387 HP instead of 340 and also enjoys 4 NM more torque. This is made possible by a new exhaust system with improved thermal management and other pistons have been installed to reduce compression from 11: 1 to 10,2: 1. There are also matt black rims and decorative strips on the C-pillars, a carbon rear lip, carbon mirror caps and black Alcantara with contrasting stitching in the interior. Great!!
