It was a few months ago when we gave you the red one 900PS Audi R8 V10 4's bi-turbo from Wheels Boutique presented and, thus, another conversion of a 2017 R8, after the 850PS version of Wheelsandmore, What we did not forget is the small one Preview from the beginning of August 2016 of Underground racing from Charlotte (North Carolina) in the USA. The tuner, known for bi-turbo conversions, announced at the time that it was working on a conversion with MoTeC M1 software which, ideally, should deliver an incredible 2.000PS engine power in the new R8. They are not quite that far yet, but at least UR has already presented the vehicle on their side 1.250PS "on the bike". After all, this corresponds to easily 1.400-1.500PS engine power and is not that far from the desired result. But you can't really think about it, so for the average consumer it is easily possible to drive on public roads with 1.500PS & more and you don't need 1,5 million as with a Bugatti Chiron? Without words ... The current conversion is also based on the JRR MoTeC M1 ECU software, which of course only represents a fraction of all changes made. Incidentally, with such a radical conversion, of course, the entire engine has to be revised and important parts such as the gearbox or the drives do not remain in series production.
The team of UR has the R8 (this time in orange) published the days with some pictures on Facebook and we are of course happy to show you these. After the blatant tuning cure that this R8 was allowed to endure, it is also only optically changed, but with almost 1.500PS, on chic new approx. 21 inch alloy wheels. So if you are already thinking of buying an R8 V10 or are even a happy owner, Underground Racing is definitely a good starting point when it comes to breathing extreme power into the R8. In return, the long way to the USA can be worthwhile because at least in Germany we are currently hardly aware of tuners who push the R8 into this performance range. If we get more information about the modifications to the R8, there will of course, as always, be an update for this report.
