Vagabund Moto, a design studio and tuning workshop from Graz, Austria, previously made a name for itself by tuning unique motorcycles. More recently, however, the studio has expanded its repertoire to include custom four-wheeled projects, with the Land Rover Defender 90 served as the basis for her latest work. The renovation was carried out in collaboration with Dakar Garage, however, is more of a rolling art object than a pure off-roader. The conversion of the special vehicle began several years ago, but experienced several delays due to the pandemic and resulting delivery delays. The vehicle was finally completed, and as a result the pickup was transformed into a real gem.

The vehicle was first stripped down to the frame and then rebuilt in Vagabund Moto's signature sleek and minimalist style. The Painting in gray and black, accentuated by the red emblem from Vagabund Moto on the rear fender, gives the Defender an elegant look. When viewed from the side, one appears color gradient from light gray at the front to dark gray to black at the rear. The studio's name is also emblazoned in large letters on the sides of the vehicle. Externally it was Custom Defenders with Steel bumpers front and back as well as flared Fenders on all four corners to accommodate the larger wheels.

The vehicle stands up off-road tires, although no details about the size of the wheelset are known yet. And the interior of the off-roader follows the minimalist design concept and matches the dark paintwork of the exterior. It is equipped with sports seats, an accessory steering wheel and a dashboard made of Alcantara. A special feature is the specially made, removable one Bluetooth speaker cube. And another highlight is that foldable windshield, which can be placed on the hood to provide an open driving experience without sacrificing safety or comfort. By the way, the loading area of the pickup was equipped with a Marble floor equipped and with several lashing points which enable bicycles to be secured.

Little is known about tuning the engine, but it was V8 under the hood in collaboration with Dakar Garage revised and is on manual transmission coupled. Although the Land Rover Defender is actually considered the ultimate British off-road vehicle and is designed for a variety of terrains, the conversion is aimed at vagabond not on the off-road capabilities, although the Defender would be quite capable of that. Instead, the focus of the project is on the extraordinary design, which transforms the Defender into a small work of art.
