Lately we've been seeing more and more VW New Beetles being upgraded with sometimes absurdly large engines under the hood. And now comes the next one. This time it's a New Beetle from 1999 that he converted himself a new engine hidden in the stern. The vehicle is just on thesamba.com available for purchase and seems to have already consumed a lot of time and money. The drive is a 5,4-liter V8, which is used in the Chevy Impala SS, the Monte Carlo SS and the Buick LaCrosse Super, among others. In contrast to the XXL tin cans from America, the New Beetle is of course much smaller and more manoeuvrable. In view of the extent of the custom-made products that are installed, it is not surprising that the Beetle was dismantled down to the last detail in the course of the conversion. The LS4-V8 was then stuffed into the empty body, along with specially made brackets that are installed where the rear seats and trunk were before.

And since there would otherwise be a big hole at the front due to the missing engine, a bigger one became Fuel tank installed. Further details such as additional instruments, flared rear fenders, leather seats and light-alloy wheels with multi-link coil springs including a new brake system with perforated and slotted discs all around can also be seen. The only downside is an automatic transmission that appears to need maintenance. The conversion should only cost 12.500 US dollars. As cool restomod base but the New Beetle could definitely be good, as we think. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
