Upgrade of the Husqvarna 801 series: Svartpilen & Vitpilen new edition!

Yesterday Husqvarna presented one Prototypes of Svartpilen, a sign of the next generation of the Swedish brand. The new launch marks the beginning of a new era for Husqvarna Svartpilen and Vitpilen models, which were previously known for their powerful single-cylinder engines. But with the introduction of the Svartpilen model, followed by the expected announcement of the vitpilen 801, Husqvarna is now turning to twin-cylinders that emerge from the partnership with KTM. The Svartpilen relies on one KTM LC8c two-cylinder with 799 cubic centimeters Displacement, which has an output of 105 PS (77 kW) and a torque of 87 Nm at 8.000 revolutions per minute. The specifications represent a significant leap over the previous 701 models released by 690 single cylinder were fueled by KTM and had 75 hp.

Husqvarna 801 Svartpilen Vitpilen

The move to a more powerful two-cylinder not only promises improved performance, but also a new level of driving pleasure and agility. The technical data leaked from Switzerland's homologation documents shortly before the official announcement also reveals that the dry weight of the Svartpilen consider 181 kg lies, while when ready to drive it weighs approx. 10 kg more. The weight information indicates a good power-to-weight ratio. Equipped with the latest technology, the Svartpilen 801 has one Quickshifters called EasyShift and various electronic ones assistance systems from KTM that improve the driving experience both on the road and on the trail. The chassis components, including one that can be adjusted in rebound and compression Upside-down telescopic fork from WP Suspension and a fully adjustable one WP Suspension shock absorber rear, also come from the KTM modular system.

Focusing on two-cylinder engines

The shock absorber supports the main frame directly from the lightweight aluminum rear wheel swing arm Steel grid tube and is supported by a bolted-on rear frame made of cast aluminum. The differences between the Roadster Vitpilen and the Scrambler Svartpilen limit ourselves to details like that Tire tread and the optics of the Krümmers as well as the height of the handlebars and protective shield. The elements underline the respective characteristics, with the Svartpilen 801 promising more versatility with a possibly increased suspension travel.
