Ducati Panigale V4 2023: electronic updates for more performance and comfort

The Ducati Panigale V4 continues their evolution for the 2023 model year with the introduction a number of electronics updates continue to make riding even easier and more intuitive for riders of all levels. The Panigale family benefits from racing experience like no other series. Ducati uses the information and technology from the world of racing for the production bikes and continues the annual evolution with the 2023 version of the Panigale V4, as practiced on the prototypes of Ducati Corse. The Panigale V4 project represents the uniqueness of a brand that wants to transfer everything that was developed for racing to bikes for enthusiasts.

Ducati Panigale V4 2023

With the 2022 model year, the Panigale V4 has undergone the most significant evolution since its launch, with improvements affecting every area of the bike: aerodynamics, ergonomics, engine, chassis and electronics. For the 2023 versions of the Panigale V4, Panigale V4 S and Panigale V4 SP2, the improvements are indicated by a updated electronics package reached. The result is a better driving experience and even more performance on the race track.

To improve driving stability, precision and directional stability when braking and cornering, the Panigale V4 2023 receives the new one Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO 2 software. This means that it is now possible to select one of the three levels for each gear and thus to set the engine brake individually. The result is precise electronic settings for different routes. The new strategy was developed to optimize the intensity of the engine braking depending on the ground contact of the rear wheel. In the first phase of the braking process, when the rear wheel is only lightly loaded, the EBC EVO 2 provides less engine braking. This increases as you approach the center of the curve. The greatest engine braking effect is provided at the moment when it contributes the most to slowing down the motorcycle and a tighter line. Thanks to this strategy, which ensures a more balanced engine braking intervention in every driving phase, the system reduces rear wheel locking in the hard braking zones, thus improving driving stability and cornering precision.

new strategy for the Ducati Quick Shift

The Panigale V4 2023 will also receive one new strategy for the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), which improves shifting at different throttle positions. There are different strategies for part throttle and full throttle. When shifting at part throttle, where the system previously cut ignition, the effect is now achieved by retarding ignition timing, making on-road shifts smoother thanks to the absence of engine shutdown. When shifting gears with the throttle valve fully open, a driving situation typical of the racetrack, the system continues to rely on ignition interruption. The driving stability could be improved by using the torque more gently. The result is better lap times.

In addition to these changes, there is one new strategy for the fan, which allows better management of operating temperatures and greater thermal comfort for the driver, even at typical road speeds. This latest update also reduces typical heat build-up after track use. The updates for the 2023 model year are supported by Vimprovements to the Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and the Ride by Wire system supplemented.

The former has been further developed to make the action of traction control as a function of lean angle even more precise, while the latter improves the link between the torque requested by the driver and the torque actually delivered. These improvements follow Ducati's philosophy, which ensures constant product evolution to always offer the highest levels of performance, ease of use and comfort.

for all Panigale V4, V4 S and V4 SP2 2023 models

These updates, available for all Panigale V4, V4 S and V4 SP2 2023 models, will also be available for all Panigale V4, Panigale V4 S and Panigale V4 SP2 2022 owners through a simple intervention that will take place at the Ducati from the end of July 2022 service can be performed. The Panigale V4 is a bike that works just as well in the hands of professionals as in amateur hands and is widely used by Ducati Corse riders in training sessions. It is no coincidence that this bike, together with the Panigale V2, was included in the "Lenovo Race of Champions“ will be used on Saturday 23 July as part of the World Ducati Week 2022 takes place and where 21 Ducati riders from the MotoGP, Superbike World Championship and Supersport World Championship will compete on the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
