The Kawasaki KX™ lineup has consistently helped shape future motocross champions for the past five decades. It still holds on as one of the most influential brands in motocross and supercross bikes, with the KX™450 continuing to be at the top of its class. Packed with features straight from the Monster Energy® Kawasaki race team factory, the straight-out-of-the-oven KX450 is one of the mightiest off-road machines ever built. All-new upgrades for 2024 include a new cylinder head, lightweight aluminum frame and center exhaust. New features on the Kawasaki KX include ODI lock-on grips, Brembo® brakes, Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) and handlebar controls with ride modes, and Bluetooth® connectivity with the Rideology app.
2024 KAWASAKI KX450
The KX450 is a bike that makes champions. Racers benefit from the industry-leading Team Green™ support network, with a national presence at races. Kawasaki riders can also sign up for the Kawasaki Rider Rewards program, which offers above-average support at select races across the country. In 2024, Kawasaki redesigned the layout of the entire intake system, right down to the valves. These have been repositioned for better port shape and shifted vertically to be symmetrical with the intake and exhaust ports. The intake and exhaust ports have also been redesigned to provide straighter airflow and greater efficiency, resulting in improved performance at all throttle positions and engine speeds.
NEW CHASSIS & BRAKES
The exhaust is now moved to the center of the bike, increasing both peak power and controllability while allowing for a slimmer body. The pipe's muffler has also been moved forward, helping to centralize mass and provide a more stable feel. A new lightweight aluminum frame retains the previous model's valued ride qualities and has optimized stiffness and dimensions to improve handling and traction in a variety of riding conditions.
For the first time in KX history, the KX450 features a Brembo front braking system, complete with master cylinder and caliper, for better stopping power control. A Nissin braking system stays at the rear of the bike, providing a combined braking package that delivers true lap time records. Improving overall ergonomics while maintaining the pure racing style of the KX machine was a priority for Kawasaki engineers. The KX450 features an all-new body that makes it easier for the rider to change their riding position. The fairing, side panels and rear fender have been revised, giving the KX450 a sleeker look while increasing mass concentration.
The side cover has a new quick-release design that provides convenient, tool-less access to the air cleaner. For added rider comfort, lock-on grips are standard on the KX450. The innovative grip system attaches the grips directly to the handlebars and makes replacement child's play. The grips are accented with green detailing on the rubber tips and mounting hardware to underscore the bike's clear motorsport image.
NEW INSTRUMENTS & TECHNOLOGY
A new traction control and power mode switch on the left handlebar is another first for the KX line of motorcycles. Riders can adjust the intensity of KTRC assistance (strong, weak or off), switch between performance modes (normal or soft response) and activate launch control with the push of a button. Another novelty in the KX series is the ability to adjust the power setting now with the RIDEOLOGY THE APP. Drivers can use the app to adjust the performance individually. Instead of resorting to the current accessory FI calibration kit, you now have the option of adjusting fuel delivery and ignition timing from your smartphone via a Bluetooth connection. Furthermore, the Bluetooth connection also makes it possible to keep a maintenance log.
The KX450X is a model specifically designed for off-road cross-country competitions, based on the proven technology of the KX race machines. It was specifically designed for off-road competition and therefore offers optimized performance and drivability in demanding terrain. The bike shares many impressive traits with its KX450 counterpart, including the engine, frame, chassis and styling. This winning base is combined with a unique cross-country tune, softer suspension settings and shorter gear ratios to create the optimum handling package for the off-road capable KX lineup.
